Why would we need help with our First Dance?
Some couples don't think about their First Dance until they are there, at the wedding, in the middle of the dance floor with everyone looking at them. For some couples this can be quite daunting and not knowing what to do leads to 3 minutes of awkward swaying until you can get your guests to come to rescue you from the dance floor! With our help, you won't need rescuing! We can help with some simple steps to get you through your chosen song, or on the other hand, if you love the idea of a big dance with lots of songs all sliced together and something your guests will never forget, then we can help you with that too! We have packages to suit all couples, or bridal parties, Father of the Bride and Mother of the Groom! We can help with any of your dancing needs!

From emailing to book in, we will find the right instructor to fit in with your busy schedule, come to your home or local studio so you don't have to go anywhere. Then we want to make teaching you those basic moves fun, no pressure to get everything right, we will go at your pace. Then we work with you to create the first dance that you had envisioned! Then following up with handy tips for the big day, we want the whole experience to be a breeze!
We haven't chosen our song yet!?
It's not a worry that you haven't chosen your song yet! Some couples like to have a taster lesson with us to learn the very basics before choosing their song, as they find that knowing a few moves can help decipher the songs that are easier to dance to than others. When it comes to choosing your song, my advice would be, try to find something that is meaningful for both of you. A song that reminds you of something special.... or just a song that really captures how you feel about each other. The most typical first dance songs are the soppy slow songs.... your song doesn't have to be that if you don't want it to be. We have done dances to lots of upbeat songs as well as beautiful slow songs and they are equally as good. No song is 'too out there' or 'too soppy' if it's perfect for you. Also, you don't need to factor in the length of the song either because we can edit your music to be the exact right length for you, or communicate with the Band so they play it exactly right. So if you come down to a final shortlist of songs we can always help you with the final decision in your lessons. Can't find the song you want sung the way you like? Why don't you let us get the song re-recored for you, so it's your own personally tailored song for your special moment.
What's included in a Package?
Once you have chosen which package seems right for you and pencilled in the dates for your lessons, everything is sorted. Your personal instructor comes to you. You have consistency with the same teacher, who will have good knowledge of your song and the kind of dance you are after so to make every lesson a productive one. All packages include practice materials to help you between lessons from; Videos of the dance moves, voice recordings of your teacher guiding you through your dance, and on top of this if you would like a write-up of your choreography we will happily email you the notes from each lesson, we want practising to be as easy and enjoyable as possible. You have access to your teacher for questions/feedback between lessons, or after the final lesson with ongoing support up until the big day. If you need to change your lesson date because something important has come up, no worries at all, we will try our best to reschedule your lesson to another date. Or if you decide you need one or two extra lessons to make sure you're feeling super confident on the day, not a problem at all, we will just tag them onto the end of your package. We are a bespoke service second to none - with our main goal being that learning your wedding dance is an easy and enjoyable experience.
When can I have my lessons? Are the lessons during the day?
We understand that most people are planning their wedding alongside having a busy 9-5pm job. So even though we do offer lessons on weekdays between business hours, this is not our busiest/most popular time to offer our lessons. We generally offer a 6pm or an 8pm time slot on a weeknight in our busy season. On the weekend we offer lessons any time between 10am - 6pm. Lessons out of these hours are always achievable on request, it's just about finding the right instructor to fit in with you. Those popular time slots do get filled up months in advance in our busy season so please book as far in advance as you can to ensure you can get lessons at the time best for you and your partner.
What areas do you cover?
We have the pleasure of having instructors in all areas of Greater London so that we can help far and wide. Having your lessons in Central London is no problem at all as TLF will get us there. But we also have Instructors who cover South London, South West London, West London, North West London, North London, North East London, East London and South East London. We have instructors that will happily drive to you in Surrey, Berkshire, Kent, Essex, and Buckinghamshire. Couples outside of Greater London may encounter a small travel fee for the instructor to get to you.
