Win £150 to spend at Glitzy Secrets

If you haven’t come across Glitzy Secrets before, than allow me to introduce you. They are an award winning online boutique specialising in vintage-inspired jewellery and hair accessories for weddings and special occasions. You’ll probably have seen their pieces in bridal magazines, wedding blogs and even on the television in the likes of Downton Abbey and Strictly Come Dancing. Well if it’s good enough for Lady Mary…

And while their designs are renowned for their exceptional quality, Glitzy Secrets pride themselves on producing ‘heirlooms with a purse-friendly price tag’. Afterall, the company was founded by self-proclaimed magpie Victoria, who just like many of you Brides out there, was looking for costume jewellery without a hefty price tag. And as well as being beautiful, the pieces are very wearable too.

As a little Friday treat for you, we’re sharing the new collection for 2016, the Timeless Elegance Collection, which focuses on statement pieces, perfect for adding some sparkle to your wedding day look. We’re also giving away £150 to spend at Glitzy Secrets – all you need to do is leave a comment below the post telling us which gorgeous pieces you’d spend the money on, and trust us, there is SO much pretty, you’ll find it difficult to choose…

The Glitzy Secrets Team: Our 2016 Timeless Elegance Collection focuses on statement pieces inspired by the romantic glamour of Old Hollywood. With designs ranging from dramatic combs which nod towards the early 1920s to bejewelled headpieces worthy of a Hollywood Starlet to classic 50s style crystal and pearl necklaces and earrings, it was important to keep all styling for our photo shoot low-key and effortlessly elegant.

The lovely Emma of Coco Wedding Venues suggested One Belgravia which was the perfect venue for us. Quite literally a blank canvas full of light, ornate paneling and detailing, it enabled us to achieve a simple style without being stark or too modern. It was the perfect setting for Dom and Zoe of Dominic Wright Photography to be able to capture the sheer beauty of the collection.

When it came to choosing a gown to complement our designs, there was no hesitation in calling our lovely friends at Eliza Jane Howell. We’re huge fans and the exquisite detail on their Sibella gown beautifully accentuated the sparkle in our Austrian crystal adorned designs.

Keeping with the classic Old Hollywood vibe, we wanted to go for a timeless hairstyle and subtle make-up which Erin from Tori Harris Pro Team totally achieved with a chic side chignon and emphasising our model Aurelie’s gorgeous long lashes. Aside from a chair and candles, the only other décor styling was the most amazing pink peony and rose arrangement and bouquet from Emily and Me – totally beyond beautiful!

Ts&Cs – To enter the competition all you need to do is comment below the post, telling us how you would spend the £150 – it’s that simple. You can see the full range of accessories on the Glitzy Secrets website. The winner will be selected at random and will be notified by email within 5 working days of the end date of the competition.

The prize is non transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and only one entry per person will be counted.

The competition will close at midnight on 22nd July 2016. The £150 can be redeemed against any item at Glitzy Secrets – regardless of whether it is in the sale or not, but is subject to availability.

  1. Hi,
Omg I would absolutely love the Divine in Art Deco hair piece, it is gorgeous and would look so good with the 1930’s dress my Mum is making for my day.

  2. There is so many beautiful hair pieces, but for me it would have to be the Grace of Gatsby hair pin. I’d spend the money on one for myself, but also for my two sisters who are my bridesmaids. The Art deco style would go beautifully with the wedding venue (Islington Town Hall) and my wedding dress. And I love the idea of my sisters being able to have such a lovely gift as a thank you for all their help in the run up and on the day.

  3. Wow some really nice things!?
I’d definitely get the cascades of pearl hair comb and the something blue garter! The rest I would spend on earrings for myself and the mum’s (not having any bridesmaids!)…

  4. Wow, what a beautiful collection! I’d choose the Heirloom Senstation headpiece – I’m wearing a sleek, vintage-inspired dress and my grandmother’s diamond earrings on my wedding day, and this would finish my outfit off perfectly.

  5. Vintage Wreath Tiara all the way – so classy and stunning! And then maybe some Pearls of Rose Gold headbands for my bridesmaids – if I was feeling generous!

  20. wow that was hard they are all stunning and unique.
Id choose the Starlet Statement Cuff and Cascades of Crystal Necklace as I hate the thought of them sitting in a box forgotten after my wedding so with these they are stunningly pretty but also wearable with my jeans and heels everyday so I have a reminder of my fairytale day with me all the time.

With short unruly curly hair, it might be just enough to tame my curls and make my Mum happy too! I do like the Decadent Envy Concord Clip and think it would be something I would like to wear for my August wedding and beyond…overall though a really nice collection with lots of great pieces…even for those of us not so girly girls.
