We're launching right into the festive spirit with a luxury DIY winter wedding table decoration. Not just for a winter wedding, this tutorial could be used for a stylish seasonal dinner party or for making your Christmas table look luxe. And this DIY floral tutorial embraces the very best the season has to offer; soft candlelight, mirrored glass and the muted greeny blue tones of Eucalyptus against the soft whites of thick heads of Hydrangea. Almost like branches of fir trees against freshly fallen snow. Almost. The lovely Karen from Passion For Flowers will be talking us through the steps to create this masterpiece for yourselves...

What You Will Need

Thistles Brunia Cream Hydrangea Heads x 3 Eucalyptus Oasis ring measuring 12” in diameter Hurricane Vase

Winter Wedding Table Decoration Instructions

1. Soak the oasis ring in a bucket until it is soaked through. 2. Add sprigs of Eucalyptus foliage around the outer edge of the floral ring and to the inner part of the ring. Pop the hurricane vase in the centre to check that the space is full. 3. Position your key flowers around the ring. It is easiest to think that the ring is split into sections and so put key flowers at 2 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 10 o’clock. In this case I have chosen the Hydrangea as the key flowers as they are big and blousy and fill lots of space. 4. Add Thistles in the spaces in between the key flowers and a touch of Brunia for great texture. 5. Fill in any remaining spaces with Eucalyptus. 6. Place the hurricane vase in the centre of the ring and add a pillar candle. 7. Add some mercury silver tea light holders around the base to give more candle light to the table. Tip: Using the same method you could add string around the top of the ring and hang ribbon as a wreath at the entrance to your venue or on the wall. If you are doing this make sure you start with the string added.

We have provided all the steps from our slider of images in one single pinnable graphic so that you can 'pin the look' to your favourite Pinterest board for later (it's highly unlikely you're ready to whip up your centrepieces right this minute). If you're on the hunt for a hurricane vase just like the one used in this DIY then I heartily recommend that you pop along to the website of The Wedding Of My Dreams where we sourced many of the props used in this tutorial. So are you tempted to give this DIY winter wedding table decoration a try? I think it would look particularly awesome on the dining table for Christmas so I'll be trying my hand at this tutorial for my own festive celebrations this year. If it looks anything as good as Karen's then it will be a winner!
