Inspiration

After Nancy & Arthur postponed their original Tuscan wedding plans, they chose to bring the Tuscan vibe to the UK to celebrate with all their favourite people! The couple had an outdoor ceremony at Wootton Hall, which they chose because of the beautiful rolling green landscape. On the day, the sun was shining down on them all, so it did truly feel like an Italian wedding day, especially with incredible flowers by Recommended supplier, Fiore Dorato! To capture the stunning day, Recommended supplier, Ana Parker Photography, was on hand. Plus, Nancy & Arthur chose Recommended supplier, The Wedding Shop, for their gift list.

Don't stress the small stuff! We'd advise breaking it down into smaller tasks and chipping away at them. Also, only do things to please yourselves! Do the things you'll enjoy and will make you happy, not what you think other people would want or expect. We didn't want to stick to every tradition e.g. having a top table with just your wedding party, not giving traditional favours, and having cupcakes instead of a wedding cake.

Nancy & Arthur

Wootton Hall

Nancy & Arthur's wedding day was so personalised to them. The couple had a family recipe Guyanese rum punch for the reception drink and a personalised menu including a bespoke seafood pasta starter from their favourite restaurant in Malta (which was Nancy & Arthur's first holiday together). Nancy walked down the aisle to 'Send Me on My Way' by Guy Meets Girl (from the movie, Matilda, which is Nancy and her dad's fave film), and a personal reading at their ceremony, The Bridge Across Forever by Richard Bach. The couple chose an outdoor ceremony at Wootton Hall to make it feel like they were in Italy, where Nancy & Arthur were originally supposed to marry.

Taffeta Wedding Dress

Nancy found it hard to pick a wedding dress with all the changing decisions and postponements. However, she decided on the stunning Jesus Peiro taffeta wedding dress. Nancy was thrilled to find a makeup artist who had experience working with mixed-tone skin. This is something she had struggled with when being a bridesmaid for others. Nancy's parents are from the West Indies, so she has a mixed heritage. Finding someone with experience in doing wedding makeup on different skin tones was essential for her to feel confident and comfortable. The couple's original cake maker pulled out a few weeks before the wedding so they were lucky enough to secure someone else last minute.

Nancy’s taffeta wedding dress is chic and sophisticated! Jesus Peiro can never go wrong!

We used Rock My Wedding and other websites to find suppliers. We found Wootton Hall on Instagram and contacted suppliers from recommendations, websites or Instagram. Our florist (who we found through Rock My Wedding) recommended John, our videographer (given Arthur is a film producer John now comes highly recommended by us as well), and helped us to look for photo booth companies. It was a big ripple effect!
