Top Tip - Makeup Timing & Schedules

Typically, I allot around 1.5 hours for the bride’s makeup and 45 minutes for each member of the bridal party, including the mother of the bride, mother of the groom, maid of honour, and bridesmaids. I also plan an extra 15-30 minutes for touch-ups after everyone is in their dresses.

“It’s crucial to discuss your skin type, any sensitivities or concerns, and the overall vibe or theme of your wedding. Bring inspirational photos, but also be open to your makeup artist’s professional advice on what will work best for your features and skin tone. It’s also important to communicate your comfort level with makeup, so the final look feels authentically you."

For me, natural glam couldn’t have come at a better time. Bridal makeup isn’t about making the bride look like a completely different person or trying something radically new. It’s about enhancing her natural features and letting her beauty shine through. Many of my brides choose me as their makeup artist because, during the trial, I take the time to really understand their preferences—what they love, what they don’t, which features they want to highlight, and what their ideal wedding makeup looks like. I often find that no matter the answers, they all point back to natural glam—using makeup to accentuate the features they already love about themselves, helping them feel and look incredible on their special day.
