Inspiration

Now we know what you're thinking, this DIY wedding with brass band wedding entertainment at the beautifully rustic venue  is really really great (and we would agree with you there!) but the real star of the show, and I'm sure our bride and groom would agree, is super cute Bertie the Whippet (he even has his own Insta account which means he's kind of a big deal). Fresh out of lockdown this couple wanted a big knees up with their friends and family and we think that Recommended supplier Wyldbee Photography captured the celebratory day perfectly.

Brass band wedding entertainment at DIY wedding

We were one of the first weddings to go ahead with no restrictions so everyone was so excited and completely ready for a giant party. we are also musicians so having so many musical friends performing at various parts of the day was just great. After nearly losing my mum to Covid and her being on a ventilator for 3 months in ICU she still says that the thought of making it to the wedding kept her alive. We were also over the moon our doggo could spend the day with us!

We play in a brass band so having a full brass band of friends/ professional musicians in a small church was pretty amazing and being able to listen to the full greatest showman works as I stood at the door waiting to come in was amazing! It was also an epic DIY project I'd love to do again! together with our family, we made our own rustic Victorian fun fare which people loved including a coconut shy, splat the rat, hook a duck, tin can ally, giant Jenga, corn hole, giant space hopper races and much more.

Eco-friendly wedding with DIY garden games

We tried to make the day as sustainable as possible making sure that anything we used was biodegradable or plantable (even the order of service) but id say the over all theme of the day was rusticy/boho. Most of the table decorations were sourced from charity shops across the north west. 56 candlesticks from 37 different charity shops to be exact!
