Choosing a wedding gift list is tricky. Shopping should be easy, right? But which gift list company should you choose? What restrictions might there be? What happens if you want physical gifts or contributions to your (much needed) honeymoon fund? Panic over, The Wedding Shop have taken over the blog this morning and are ready to answer all of your gift list related questions. The Wedding Shop can help you create the perfect wedding list too, here’s how:

Unlimited Choice

The Wedding Shop is the UK’s original multi-retailer gift list company and is passionate about bringing its customers complete flexibility and unlimited choice. And with over 25 years in the gift list business they know a thing or two about weddings.

It’s so easy to set up your list. You can do it all from the comfort of your sofa (soon to be adorned with fancy new cushions if you choose) or you can choose to visit in person. The newly designed website is super fancy and easy to use, even on your mobile, if you fancy adding a few extra bits and pieces during your daily commute. There is even a chat facility for any burning questions that may crop up. Completing the personal service offering, The Wedding Shop’s stunning showrooms are conveniently located in Chelsea and Selfridges (Oxford Street) where couples can enjoy a private consultation and see a showcase of the collections.

Choosing your perfect list

When it comes to creating your list you will have the choice from more than 350 leading and boutique brands including Wedgwood, Yves Delorme, Kate Spade, The White Company, Ralph Lauren, Dualit, Le Creuset, Kitchen Aid, Garden Trading, Cornishware, Missoni Home and many more.

From timeless tableware and designer cutlery to state-of-the-art gadgets and unusual antiques, there is something for every room of the home. For high-value items such as furniture and electrical appliances there is now the option to split the cost into affordable contributions for guests. Exclusive to The Wedding Shop, couples can also add an unlimited number of independently stocked products to their list without any additional charges.

You also have the option of including monetary gifts, charity donations and honeymoon funds to let you choose the mix that is right for you. Offering complete flexibility, couples are free to include the charity of their choice, browse an extensive range of personal honeymoon experiences or simply include the monetary values, all with no charge for the service.

  1. Hello, perfect timing as my to do list this weekend is to think more about our wedding list! We’re looking for some inspiration for country cottage style home furnishings, any suggestions as to where to start?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Milly,

Wonderful! We have lots of beautiful “country cottage” style items that would make for some really great gifts! Please do visit our inspiration list “Country Escape” to get you started on this (link below). A personal favourite is the Juliska ‘Berry and Thread’ range, it really is beautiful and would give a real country aesthetic to your dining table!

I hope that helps, please do feel free to contact us directly at or call us on 0207 384 8488 if you would like any more information on our product. Alternatively, we would love to welcome you to either of our showrooms where we can take you through our lovely samples and help you to build your list in store!

      Best wishes,

  2. Hi,
We are hoping to mainly do our gift list for our honeymoon. We are heading on a fly drive of America so do you have any recommendations for the sorts of experiences we should include? Also, we would like to pop a few gifts on too for the inevitable family members that want to get something to keep so should we just pop a couple of these on so people mainly opt for the honeymoon choices or still add a good selection. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.

    1. Hi Jo,

What a great idea! At The Wedding Shop you can create any experience you would like for your guests to contribute towards. You will see on our site that we have lots of template ideas for activities, popular ones being car hire and room upgrades but I think a contribution like “Entrance to National Parks” would be unique to your list. As we do not work directly with any travel or honeymoon agents, you can create any contribution you would like and we simply hold the cash donated and transfer it to you after your wedding.

The Wedding Shop is a perfect way for you to build a list with both product and honeymoon contributions with no fees or any hidden charges! In our experience, we suggest you add a mixture of both product and contributions, as it gives your guests an opportunity to purchase some beautiful keepsakes!

If you require any more information please do not hesitate to get in contact at, or call us on 0207 384 8488 – we would love to hear from you!

      Best wishes,

  3. Hi,
Can you let me know how the charirty donation element works? We have a couple that are very important to us and as we don’t really need anything much this might be a really nice idea.

    1. Hi Lizzie,

Great to hear from you! You will see that we have many charities already on our site but if you have a particular charity (or charities) in mind that are not uploaded, please do let us know by sending us the link and we will happily add them for you!

All the money raised would be sent straight to the charity after your wedding and we of course do not charge for this service. It is such a great way to raise money for a charity close to your heart!

Do not hesitate to get in contact at or call us on 0207 384 8488 if you would like to receive further information.

      Best wishes,

  4. Hello, Your list looks perfect – i love blush and copper!

How long does it take to set up a list? Are you able to make changes to your list and what if you change your mind or don’t like an item when it arrives?

    1. Hi Hannah

Good question! At The Wedding Shop you can either create your list completely online or you are more than welcome to come into one of our beautiful showrooms to build your list in store with us. We advise that you set your list “live” as your invitations are being sent out- we also offer complimentary invitation insert cards outlining all the details your guest would need. Compiling your list is easy to do and can be ready to view immediately if building your list online- the tricky part is choosing which gifts you would like from our 300+ brands!

Our lists are extremely flexible too, you can even add product to your list once it is live! Within our brands we offer 100% flexibility, so when it comes to ordering you can allocate your guests balance however you would like- a useful way to complete a set of cutlery for instance.

We hope that you will love all of your gifts but should you be unhappy with anything you receive we ask that you return the item to one of our showrooms, in a saleable condition and in the original packaging, within 14 days.

We are always happy to help, so if you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in contact at or call us on 0207 384 8488 !

      Best wishes,

  5. We’re very excited to welcome The Wedding Shop to RMW this morning 🙂

Readers – we really do think they have the best selection of useful but very covetable items – have a browse of their website, I’m sure you’ll soon find yourself with a list of must-haves!

And they offer the best of both worlds, great online service but also actual high street presence, where you can spend time looking at the products ‘in real life’ with your personal advisor.

Keep the questions coming and happy browsing.

  6. Oooh, this is great timing. I’m definitely looking forward to creating our list as we have just moved house. It’s great that you have loads of brands to choose from. We do have lots of stuff already and as much as I want to add everything I probably should focus on stuff that will stand the test of time. I’m thinking some key kitchen items, vases etc. Any suggestions on brands or items that you think I should be looking at? Thanks in advance.

    1. Hi Jen

How exciting- your wedding list is the perfect opportunity to receive these special items and guests love to buy you gifts that you will treasure forever! With such a large range of items from the everyday to the more high-end you will be spoilt for choice!

With household names such as Kitchenaid, Dualit, Magimix and Le Creuset whose quality will not let you down, we also offer many hand-picked brands such as Cristel and Cordello. We have a page specifically designated to the kitchen that you may find helpful! Please follow the link here:

For some more “gifty” items brands such as Culinary Concepts, LSA and Waterford crystal are extremely popular and have a huge variety. However, for those stand-alone gifts I would suggest taking a peek at Baccarat and Ercuis– just gorgeous!

I hope this has given you some inspiration for your list, but if you have any further queries whatsoever please get in contact at or call us on 0207 384 8488.

      Best wishes

  7. I just wanted to ask what happens if something you choose on your list is then out of stock? Sometimes there is quite a long time between creating the list and receiving your gifts? Thanks! x

    1. Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your question. Sadly discontinuations do happen from time to time, which are unfortunately out of our control. In this case, we update you immediately and reimburse your Wedding Shop account with the monetary value. We will then try and find alternatives so that we can order you a gift as close to the original as possible.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact at if you have any further queries.

      Best wishes,

  8. Thank you all very much for your comments today! We’re wrapping up for now, but please do not hesitate to contact us either via email:, by telephone on 0207 384 8488 , or talk to us on our online chat via our website and we will happily answer any queries you may have.

In the meantime, have a great bank holiday weekend all!

    Best wishes,

  9. Hi,
My fiance and I have lived together for a few years and we really have got everything we need (and more!). We’d like to ask our guests to pay for experiences, but we’re mostly interested in setting up a honeymoon/house deposit fund. How quickly will the money be transferred to our account after our wedding? Is there an option of withdrawing the money from the honeymoon fund before the wedding?
