Inspiration

Danesfield House was incredible and the staff really went out of their way to look after us. The toastmaster took a lot of the stress out also. Despite the COVID travel restrictions we also successfully managed to get a number of international family members over from abroad which was so important for us.

We planned our wedding in less than 6 months with no compromises, so can confirm that it is possible to do it in a short time frame. It was really helpful to split the tasks so it doesn't all fall on one person. Set up a joint wedding email address that you can both use. Have a wedding site to save on printing costs, confirm rsvp and keep the guests updated digitally.

We wanted a warm cosy feel with a wedding by candlelight and lots of rich colours and velvets. We went for a burgundy colour theme that symbolises happiness and good fortune in Chinese culture. We had a harpist during the ceremony playing contemporary songs that we picked which we absolutely loved along with the wedding speeches - they were hilarious!
