Inspiration

What made Fern & Jon’s wedding day at Willow Marsh Farm unique was the styling. Going for a fun festival vibe, the couple had neon signs and disco balls decorating the rustic venue, a Greek food menu, as well as personal wedding favours. The couple made booklets for each person on the tables called “Fern’s and Jon’s Fun Friend Facts” (mainly drunk funny events and memories), which was great as it got people talking to each other! The incredible Recommended Supplier, Mark Horton Photos, captured this alternative wedding day that embraced new traditions.

Willow Marsh Farm festival wedding with neon signs, disco balls and personal favours

Our florist was amazing and moved our flowers from the altar to where we sat for our wedding breakfast all by herself! We loved our wedding photographer and he was so easy to get on with. We warned him we don’t take good photos and pull faces, but he smashed it out of the park and got the best photos we’ve ever had of each other.

Willow Marsh Farm Festival Wedding

The inspiration for Fern & Jon’s festival wedding at Willow Marsh Farm came from their love for parties and festivals like Glastonbury. The styling reflected this with ribbon decorations on the DJ stand and disco balls, which Fern made in all different sizes. The couple had a massive photo wall as well as mini ‘fun fact’ booklet favours, so everyone was reminiscing about their shared memories all night long. It was the perfect way to get ready for the party! Outside, there were neon lights, bubbles, and disposable cameras. Fern & Jon wanted their friends and family to enjoy the wedding as if it were a festival.

Orange Velvet Bridesmaid Dresses

Fern & Jon’s golden hour couple portraits are just magic! That golden glow is stunning. The couple had some epic wedding party photos featuring the bridesmaids in pretty orange velvet bridesmaid dresses that complemented the venue and fun festival vibe perfectly. Fern & Jon recommend having some alone time on your wedding day. It’s so important to have fun on your day together as well as with your guests. Fern & Jon also made their own playlist. Having a soundtrack to your day makes it even more memorable. Every time you hear a song you’ll think back to a special moment from your day.

Music can really set the tone for your wedding! Include personalised playlists throughout your day.

Apart from getting married to my best friend, the best part of the day was after we got married and walked down the aisle. The staff had drinks ready for us at the doorway, which were two espresso martinis (which Jon organised instead of Prosecco) and took us straight to the bar so we could have our own little moment chatting before seeing everyone. Having our photos taken at golden hour in the field with our photographer, was so funny. We had great fun with the smoke flare.
