Often wedding favours are about the couple, for example a little shot with the wedding date, which is lovely, but doesn’t give the personal element to the guest themself. The poems really say, we see you and we value all the wonderful things you bring to our life.
All of my illustrations are drawn entirely from scratch, and I always aim to capture what makes each guest unique - whether that's their hairstyle, outfit, glasses, or even their smile. I also love including the little personal touches, like tattoos or accessories, which people always appreciate. I do try to honour any requests I get, like “can you make my hair bigger?” or “please make my arms slimmer!”, as I think the beauty of illustrations is that they can show you as you want to be - I do my best to keep it flattering while still true to the person.
