High Low Wedding Skirt at The Asylum

Photography by Joasis Photography

You know, we really are feeling a two-piece bridal number right now. And this high low wedding skirt worn by gorgeous bride Lexi is a serious winner. Lexi and Tom made their way down the aisle at The Asylum Chapel, with a reception spent at Recommended Supplier venue, 100 Barrington. With the environment in mind, they wanted everything to be as local as possible. With a caterer from Peckham, a florist from Brixton and a vegetarian meal, complete with seasonal and local produce! This beautiful day was captured by Recommended Supplier, Joasis Photography and perfectly planned by Devine Bride. With bridesmaid’s gowns covered by Rewritten and entertainment from the Wedding Smashers, their day was well and truly taken care of! What can we say? We’re ready and waiting with the best wedding suppliers out there…

We wanted a dry hire venue so we could choose everything ourselves. We really wanted to pick everything - not just drinks and food - but tables, chairs, plates, glasses etc. It may sound a bit controlling, but all of those things really mattered to me!

ADVICE

Do the things that you really want to do. There are so many traditions that are unnecessary or outdated - change things to suit you. We didn't do anything hugely different, but I wanted both my mum and dad to walk me down the aisle - it meant so much to us to do that together. I'll never forget the time we had in the car on the way there, or before we walked down the aisle. We didn't want to cut the cake and decided to cut it from the timeline.

PERSONALISED NAPKINS

The napkins were one of our favourite aspects; seeing everyone's faces as they realised they had a personalised napkin and listening as they shared their stories behind each one. Laura and Jo are a dream team! We loved every minute of working with them. Laura is the best planner and Jo the best photographer. It felt like we had friends as our suppliers. Salt & Honey’s food is out of this world. It was a big task using a field kitchen and a fully vegetarian menu, but it was all outstanding.

Tom's favourite moment was a quick stop at Shrub & Shutter for a drink. It's round the corner from 100 Barrington and where we had our first date. It was so special being there again 6 years later and having time to ourselves on a whirlwind of a day!
