We know it's normal to cry at weddings, but after seeing Sarah in her stunning lace sleeve wedding dress from Recommended supplier Halfpenny London, we think crying at wedding photos must be okay too... Right? Well it's too late anyway! After we featured Sarah and Luke's incredible golden hour engagement shoot at Durdle Door, we've been patiently waiting for them to tie the knot. And we're thrilled to say their romantic ceremony in the Somerset countryside did not disappoint in the slightest! From the to the warm floral stationery from Recommended stationer Emmy Designs and earthy toned bridesmaids dresses from Recommended supplier Rewritten, this was a colourful day that is as heartwarming as it is inspiring.

Traditional English wedding in Somerset with Halfpenny London lace sleeve wedding dress.

"We wanted everything to be fairly simple and romantic but also quite colourful. We also wanted it to be a joyous celebration of the countryside and being back together with friends and family!

STYLE

The vibe of the day was traditional English summer wedding with a bit of a festival feel, and Sarah pretty much nailed her own brief. Just look at her. The wide lace sleeve wedding dress from Halfpenny London has traditional festival vibes all over it! Not to mention the fact she could take off the overlay and reveal the stunning cross back satin slip underneath for the evening. Oh, and Luke? Yeah he pretty much nailed it too. The suave three piece suit was truly serving the traditional vibes. The colourful buttonhole and shades that appeared post-ceremony were also giving the little hint of festival that the sunny reception required.

LOCATION

Sarah and Luke got married in Pennard House, an old English family home nestled in the Somerset countryside which conveniently sits next to a beautiful church. It was also conveniently next to the Glastonbury festival site. (Which fit in perfectly with the vibe of their day and Sarah's boho lace sleeve wedding dress). And, conveniently, they enjoyed lovely early summer weather. Now if this day doesn't tick all your boxes, we're not sure what will? Oh wait... Their videographer was also conveniently a friend who captured all the special moments of their day, even the bits they missed. There we go. All the boxes ticked! You're welcome.

Having an engagement shoot and wedding videographer will make sure you capture all the special memories of getting married!

Enjoy the planning stage! It's exciting and all part of the process. The day goes so quickly you want to enjoy the buildup and make that part of the whole experience too. Dress fittings, food tastings, these are all really memorable and special events!
