Inspiration

After many childhood summers in Cornwall, Lucy & Sam chose to have a church ceremony and marquee Sennen Cove wedding reception. The coastal views are breathtaking, as are all the decor, details, fashion and flowers. Cue wicker lampshade hanging installations, cafe au lait and blush floral arrangements and Lucy's Suzanne Neville wedding dress billowing in the wind. Sam looks equally dashing in a traditional morning suit, as do the bridal party in pale blue bridesmaid dresses. And wait until you see the portraits of them driving along the coast in their convertible MG. Every detail and wedding day moment has been expertly captured by Recommended photographer Carrie Lavers Photography.

Church ceremony and marquee reception for Sennen Cove wedding

We got married at Lucy’s family home in Sennen Cove, Cornwall. We ejoyed many childhood summers there and also got engaged there too. It was so magical to have all our friends and family celebrate with us. Eating the most delicious three course meal with a sea view and the sound of the waves was spectacular. A highlight was dancing out the tiny church to “Everlasting Love” by Love Affair and then whizzing down the coastal roads in Sam’s Uncle’s classic car. Our wedding was a real family effort with lots of DIY - stationery painted by Lucy’s sister and signs by the mother-of-the-bride.

Sennen Cove wedding

Home weddings always have a special place in our hearts, espcially when they have picturesque views. Lucy's family home is right by the coast - the ideal location to host a marquee reception for this Sennen Cove wedding. Lucy & Sam decorated the marquee with hanging installations, taper candles, and DIY decor & signs. Lest we forget the flower pressed wedding cake which proudly stood on a barrel. There was also a champagne tower and expert gin cocktail bar.

Wedding Fashion

The bridal party's blue bridesmaid dresses not only match the clear blue sky, they are also the perfect 'something blue.' Groom Sam continued the blue them by wearing a doubled breasted blue waistcoat to complement his traditional grey morning suit. And what goes well with blue? Pink, of course! Blush blooms, pastel pink candles and flowers littered the reception table decorations. It's the perfect pastel colour scheme for a summer wedding.

Why not make your bridal party your 'something blue' by choosing blue bridesmaid dresses

Enjoy your wedding! Lean into the things that make your venue or location unique. Choose a great song to exit the ceremony, and don’t waste money on expensive evening food (we served pasties from boxes on the dance floor that cost £2 each.) Also, don't host anything which takes guests away from the dance floor!!!! V important one. And choose a small dance floor so it always looks full.
