Inspiration

We can't get over this Pylewell Park wedding and we are pretty sure you are going to love it too! With natural decor to compliment the already picturesque venue, the couple tied the knot outdoors with a view over the sea. DIY decor details, a beautiful Made With Love dress, neutral tones and silk lanterns shipped in from Vietnam littered the Hampshire country house. Every detail was captured by one of our favourites, Jason Mark Harris, who the couple found through our Recommended Suppliers here at Rock My Wedding!

Pylewell Park wedding in Hampshire

We spent a lot of our budget on our venue so tried to do the rest of the wedding on a tighter budget - we did a lot of DIY and tried to make everything as thoughtful as possible. We had 60 white silk lanterns brought from Vietnam - we travelled to Asia after we graduated and fell in love with Hoi An famous for its silk lanterns, our friends were on holiday there shortly after we got engaged and kindly flew them back for us. Our lockdown puppy, Mila, also joined us in the afternoon.

We wanted to have as much of our day outdoors as we could, after the ceremony with the view down to the sea, we wanted to have drinks out on the lawn and really make the most of the naturally beautiful space. We didn't want to go over the top with styling - I love neutral colours so kept everything really clean and simple with natural textures that tied in to the outdoors. The groom and best men had linen suits and I loved the idea of having bridesmaids in 'almost white'.

DIY wedding decor and dried flower bouquets

We did AS MUCH as possible ourselves to try and save on wedding budget!!! The cake table for afternoon tea was baked by family and friends who each contributed one or two tray bakes which we set up by the bar on the lawn. I dried all the confetti myself from bouquets from hen weekend, birthdays and from the garden etc. Our family friend made our wedding cake as our wedding gift! We did all the table decorations including dried flower displays and bridesmaid bouquets! We also made our invites and all on-the-day stationery. And my friend did our wedding video too.
