Inspiration

Alex & Luke had a traditional church wedding ceremony followed by an epic party in their sail cloth tent. A cool wedding band, DJ, and plenty of local suppliers helped make the evening a night to remember. Alex wore a pretty Temperley Bridal wedding dress with a pearl headband and looked incredible next to her bridesmaids in pretty satin burnt orange dresses. Capturing the day was Recommended supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography.

Sail cloth tent wedding reception for a relaxed and fun wedding

We used the Rock My Wedding Recommended suppliers page to find our photographer and what a decision that was! Otherwise, we tried to keep things as personalised as possible which meant choosing local suppliers around us in Manchester or Alex's parents in Liverpool.

Sail Cloth Tent

Alex & Luke had the most incredible party and reception in the sail cloth tent. The couple always knew they wanted to decide on the food, drink and music themselves to make it as 'them' as possible. The food was from a local restaurant that Alex & Luke love to eat at called Baity, and wine was provided by Alex's family friend, Ian Clarke, who is a wine merchant in Crosby. The entertainment was off the charts with Mr Wilson's Second Liners (the epic band) and DJ Kev (who played Alex's 18th and 21st birthdays as well). They finished off the night with floor fillers and a packed dance floor.

Relaxed and Fun Wedding

Alex & Luke's wanted the main vibe of their wedding to be relaxed and fun with a few touches to reflect the autumn season. Florence and Vera Events and Florence in Flowers were both incredible at taking Alex's original ideas and turning them into something better than the couple could have imagined. Alex's old school choir sang during the service and Alex & Luke both said they made the ceremony so special.
Also, Alex's older brother was the master of ceremonies and he did a fantastic job, especially with kicking the wedding breakfast off with a game that involved the whole room and set the vibes for the rest of the day.

Using friends/family or local suppliers is a great way of adding a personal and meaningful touch to your wedding

Someone asked us what our favourite moment of our day was recently and we honestly couldn't pick one. The whole day was one big high with so many amazing moments. Try and enjoy it as it goes so fast and you'll want to do it again immediately!

Alex & Luke's reception in the sail cloth tent certainly is providing all the epic party vibes. If you're looking to book your own wedding band, here's some advice on choosing your wedding band. If you want your bridal party to look amazing then burnt orange bridesmaid dresses are always a safe bet.
