Inspiration

Recommended venue Askham Hall is steeped in character and history. Add woodland Autumn theme wedding decor and details and it becomes even more enchanting. From tree centrepieces to string lights draping from the ceiling, Rebecca and Ryan thought of it all. They shared their day with their beautiful dogs and the rain, but nothing was going to dampen their spirits. Besides, rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?!

Woodland Autumn theme wedding at Askham hall with tree centrepiece and fairy lights

We had an autumnal woodland vibe with a cosy and laid back party atmosphere. It rained the majority of the day but we embraced it and danced in the rain! Our beautiful dogs Willow and Nellie were there and we had a glitter bar and vintage photo booth to keep guests entertained. All our tables were named after our favourite musicians and we had homemade blackberry vodka shots for favours.

MOMENTS

My favourite moment has to be getting our photos taken in the rain. Something I thought would stress me out but we were just so giddy that we were finally married that it could have been a hurricane and we wouldn’t have cared, we threw our umbrellas away and just danced around getting totally soaked!

Autumn Theme Wedding

We are from the Lake District and we absolutely love walking in all our local forests, especially in autumn which is our favourite season. The brief I gave to the florist and stylist was ‘an autumn forest at dusk when everything is a little bit dark and mysterious but beautiful.’ We had large trees as centrepieces surrounded by pumpkins and textured foliage. Then we had hundreds of black, burgundy and pink tapered candles and the ceiling was covered in fairy lights. The suppliers nailed it, it was super cosy and beautiful. Perfect for October!

Curvy Bride

I bought my original dress in 2019 but then Covid hit and we had to postpone the wedding. With all the stress I didn’t lose the weight I had intended to and I panicked that my dress would look bad. With 11 weeks to go, I found Beautiful Brides Liverpool, which caters for curvy brides. Marisa who owns the shop was incredible! She went above and beyond to find my dream dress and have it ready for me in time. She knows exactly what she’s doing for us curvier ladies and she made my experience magical!

Live singers/bands along with a photo booth and glitter bar keep guests entertained all day.

Don’t book suppliers until you know you have found the perfect ones for you. There are so many incredible people out there. But, you have to find the right fit with your vision for your day and your personality. Once you have suppliers onboard who totally understand what you want, and you can have a good giggle with, you’re winning!

Rebecca & Ryan

Rebecca walked up the aisle to the theme tune of her favourite film ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ and back down again to The Emotions 'Best Of My Love. Incorporating music and including decor you like is exactly what will make your day personal to you. We love Rebecca and Ryan's Autumn theme wedding, especially those fairy lights. And have all the wedding music inspiration you need, from walking down the aisle to the ultimate party playlist.
