Planning

The first reading we’re breaking down from our popular religious Bible readings is the Song of Solomon 8:6-7. This Bible reading is all about commitment and lasting love (which is why it’s obviously perfect as a wedding reading)! The Song of Solomon 8:6-7 includes dramatic language with connotations of permanence. The overall meaning of this reading is that love is so strong it can sometimes be destructive, so when you love another it has to be with full commitment and intent. Love can’t be contained and, because of its rarity, love’s value must be appreciated when you do find it. As the saying goes, money can’t buy love or happiness! If you decide this is the reading for you, we have a free downloadable PDF!

Song of Solomon 8:6-7

Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon your arm;
for love is strong as death,
passion fierce as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
a raging flame.
Many waters cannot quench love,
neither can floods drown it.
If one offered for love
all the wealth of one’s house,
it would be utterly scorned.

Ready to make that commitment?
