Inspiration

Have you been looking for some streamer decoration ideas, neon signs, a retro wedding cake, and incredible boho-inspired dresses all wrapped up in a gorgeous barn wedding venue? Well, we've got fantastic news for you. This stunning winter wedding-styled shoot has all of that and more. We love a combination of themes, so with boho, luxe and wintery/Christmas vibes all coming together, this was bound to be an editorial shoot for the books. The venue and the things inside it made the day come alive - and we have Recommended supplier, The Prop Library to thank for that. The different vibes and different props also made the bride's gorgeous boho dress from Recommended supplier IndieBride London stand out. Speaking of the bride - her gorgeous hair and makeup that aligned with her outfit perfectly were done by, Recommended supplier, I Do Bridal Services. We definitely say 'I do' to this entire shoot.

Boho meets retro with fantastic cakes, gorgeous outfits and streamer decoration ideas

This rustic boho venue was a perfect backdrop for an eclectic fun wedding day, that any young couple looking for something non-traditional can take inspiration from. We wanted the colour to dominate in our palette to brighten up a winter's day wedding.

Decor & streamer decoration ideas

It's weddings like these that go to show how large a role decor plays in piecing together your theme. This shoot makes a statement with the gorgeous decor and offers some fantastic streamer decoration ideas. The coordinators wanted to make a statement with said streamers as well as their neon signage - and that they did. The white, gold and pink streamers at the end of the aisle tied around the circular wooden arch perfectly add depth to the room. And the colourful, magenta, explosive streamers in the reception room simply scream fun, contemporary love. There was some incredible edible inspiration, too. That's right - that CAKE. We predicted that retro wedding cakes would be big in 2023, and not to toot our own horns or anything, but we were right on the money. This shoot is evidence that retro cakes are beyond stunning, and here to stay.

Mixing up themes

Choosing a wedding theme can be tricky. Especially because there are so many to pick from. Here's a question for you, then; why not choose more than one? Go absolutely buck wild - three themes, even. FOUR! Sorry - getting ahead of ourselves here. This shoot is all the confirmation you need that mixing up themes can look sensational. It also takes some of the stress of choosing just one away. Found nestled within this wedding, you can see elements of boho, rustic, eclectic, luxe, winter and contemporary themes - and they all come together perfectly. It's important to create a concept that works for you and your partner - so spend time coming up with your theme, whatever that may be. Figure out what you like about certain themes, and start putting them together, seeing if they'd work on your big day.

Hygge in Kent

We wanted to showcase an outdoor Hygge area. With faux fur throws, candles, inside lanterns, low crates, and cane seating, keeping it as simple as possible. Some outdoor shots of this area were taken at night when the venue was lit up with fairy lighting. With smoke bombs an ongoing trend at weddings, we continued the fun outside the barn and in the field. Our ceremony area was in the barn where we added faux fur rugs to the guest chairs. We also added streamers tied to the last chairs on each row, to tie the theme together.

We love contemporary wedding decor - especially in the form of neon wedding signs and gold table centrepieces

The hair and makeup look was aligned to the boho style to match the boho dresses, with half up half down braided hair with extensions and a bold lip look. We carried the boho theme further with cowboy boots, a Panama hat and a pink faux fur jacket for the outside shots. Incorporating some fun elements with the sunglasses for some of the video and photo shots.
