For me, one of the biggest ways to save money is actually starting early. Couples who start planning 18–24 months before the wedding normally have much more choice. They have more time to compare venues and suppliers, spread payments over a longer period and make decisions calmly instead of having to accept whatever is still available six or seven months before the wedding.
A good planner should not just keep adding things. Sometimes our job is actually to tell a couple, “You don’t need this. Spend the money somewhere else.” That can make a big difference.

You can find so many wonderful suppliers on our curated supplier directory! These suppliers really are the best of the best, so you can plan your destination wedding knowing you're in safe hands.
Browse SuppliersDecoration is an area where you can be clever. You don’t need flowers everywhere. Sometimes one beautiful ceremony area, well-designed dinner tables and good lighting can create much more impact than trying to decorate every corner of the venue. I always prefer to spend with purpose rather than filling the wedding with things just because they are normally included in a package.
Destination wedding planning is a long journey. You are making decisions in another country, sometimes without seeing the venue or meeting every supplier in person, so you need someone who understands your priorities and also understands your budget.
