We always love a destination wedding and this one does not disappoint! The beautiful venue, the rustic wooden signs, the vibrant flowers with tropical Polynesian inspired decor and did we mention the Vera Wang black wedding dress?! Having already worn a classic white dress for their civil ceremony previously, this bride decided she had to have something different for the celebration and we are so pleased she did, incredible!
Destination Wedding with Vera Wang Black Wedding Dress
Keith and I both love the Polynesian culture. We wanted our wedding to reflect the simplicity of Polynesian culture, its use of flowers, plants and fruits as a natural yet colorful decor. We also wanted our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed, which is why we chose a tropical beach theme, using natural wood, flip-flops, foutas, and other beach-inspired decors to bring the Mediterranean Sea into our big day.
Having our closest relatives and friends with us was memorable. We missed Keith's parents who could not make it due to visa issues but his favorite aunt and uncle and his cousins who he is closest to represented the family. On my end, my grandmothers and my siblings, who had missed our civil ceremony in NY, were all present alongside my parents, which made my day. Lastly, celebrating this beautiful day with our two eldest sons and the third one in my belly, on the dance floor till 4 a.m. was the cherry on the cake!
French Wedding with Polynesian Inspired Decor
My wedding dress stole the show. It was a beautiful BLACK Iconic Vera Wang. I was 5 months pregnant in it and loved every minute of it. We had held our civil ceremony on an old wooden sailboat in New York City Harbor. I wore a short white beach cocktail dress. So, for our big celebration, I had to go big and black!
