Sara & Toni’s wedding in Croatia is simply delicious. First, let’s begin with Sara’s wedding gown from Mara Marti, because… how. Freakin’. Lush. We are just loving those full sleeves and low-cut back complete with lace trimming (obsessed). Having spent their summers visiting Toni’s family on the coast, they used their wedding as an opportunity to show family and friends what they love about the country. The rustic vibe throughout works perfectly against the stunning villa backdrop and natural botanical aesthetic. Wedding in Croatia complete with rustic vibe and white florals
We got engaged in February 2020 and always planned for a summer wedding the following year. I assumed that by midyear or even end of 2020, I would be able to visit Croatia to finalise plans and try on my wedding dress in the Barcelona showroom - Covid lockdowns changed all of that. I ended up moving everything forward, sight unseen - even the dress! - but with the help of Ivana, the Marta Marti team and WhatsApp video calls, we were able to pull off a wedding that was absolutely perfect for us.
VIBE
Our entire party stayed at a nearby beachfront resort, Golden Haven, so we were happy to have a mix of scenery for guests to experience more of Croatia with us. Once we decided on the venue, I focused on the dress. I fell in love with the Daga design by Marta Marti and nothing else could compare - it was drama but not fussy, fashion but not unattainable. Everything really seemed to follow that vibe - a perfect blend of design, nature and magic.
CROATIA WEDDING
We were able to have a long weekend full of sun, boating, island hopping and traditional Croatian rakija. The weather turned just in time for our wedding reception and our dinner was interrupted due to rain. Rather than calling the night early, the whole wedding party ended up dancing for hours in the rain! Though not as planned, it was a truly memorable wedding.
PROMESSI WEDDINGS
We were connected with Ivana at Promessi through the events team of Bibich Winery. I honestly couldn't have pulled off the wedding without her help - for each supplier she narrowed down a list to the best options so all I had to do was choose. Just from seeing my inspiration boards and hearing my stories, she was able to help me build the perfect roster of team for the day.
We love the relaxed vibe of Toni’s outfit, complete with an open shirt and floral buttonhole.
Follow both your instincts and your heart when making decisions. Let things fall into place - you cannot control everything and that is okay. Not everyone you want to come will be able to, but those who do attend the wedding will mean the world to you. Things will not go as planned, but the guests will never know it and as long as you enjoy yourselves, everyone else will too! Enjoy every minute of it - it goes by so fast.
