Nestled along the stunning coastline at Rockwater Branksome, Astrid & Mat’s wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, laughter, and personal touches. Surrounded by 80 of their closest friends and family, the couple transformed their special day into a joy-filled affair, crafting a wedding that truly reflected their personalities. The highlights of the wedding day include the couple’s wedding band that they found on Recommended Supplier, Bands For Hire, on Rock My Wedding! Astrid also wore a beautiful wedding dress by Recommended Supplier, Made With Love Bridal.
Earlier in the year, Astrid & Mat had already exchanged vows in a small legal ceremony. This earlier celebration eased the pressure on their wedding day, allowing them to focus on what mattered most, which was celebrating their love with the people they hold dearest. From the start, their goal was clear. They wanted to create a day that felt less formal and more authentically them. Traditions weren’t important. Instead, they infused the occasion with meaning and fun.
Astrid - I had arranged a surprise song to play during my walk down the aisle that Mat didn’t know about and the reaction was exactly what I was going for.
Mat - My favourite moment was dancing to ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ with everyone on the dancefloor.

“We wanted our wedding to be three things: delicious, fun, and unmistakably ours,” Astrid shared. True to their vision, every detail felt intentional and personal. Food and drink took centre stage as one of the couple’s top priorities. Entertainment was another key focus, and their chosen band, which they found via Rock My Wedding (that’s us!) didn’t disappoint, delivering an atmosphere full of energy.
Adding an extra layer of sentiment, the ceremony itself was officiated by the mutual friend who introduced the couple. It was a fitting tribute to the connection that first brought them together and made everything feel that much more intimate. For Astrid & Mat, their wedding at Rockwater Branksome was a reflection of their journey as a couple and the love they share with their family and friends.
Astrid & Mat went all-in on DIY details. From crafting their own wedding decorations to designing the stationary, table names, and bunting, their creativity was on full display. Mat even built a beautiful wooden arch for their ceremony, originally planned for the beach but moved indoors when the weather didn’t cooperate. By letting go of the traditions, they created a day filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Don’t listen to what people tell you that you should or shouldn’t be doing on your day. Do the things you want, don’t do the things you don’t. It is your day, make it your own.
