Share the load and play on each other's strengths. One of us is very creative with experience working in events, and the other is a whizz with a spreadsheet and is impeccably organised. So, we exploited those skills when planning. We also turned our early planning sessions into little weekend lunch dates we could look forward to rather than trying to face them after a long day at work. Also, do your wedding how YOU want to do it. It’s a day of celebrating you and your love for each other. Don’t worry about having to tick any ‘traditional’ boxes if those things don't work for you.

We’ve waxed lyrical about our celebrant (and rightly so) but our photographer, Hash, is so talented, it’s a joke. He was able to put us both at ease in front of the camera and came away with some shots that made us feel like movie stars! His engagement shoot had us posing in the streets of Manchester, so by the time it came to the wedding day, we were so comfortable with him and his style. Our friends and family loved him too - we’re still trying to have him on retainer for any special life occasions in the future!
