Inspiration

Pick up the phone! The 70s are calling. Vintage is back and better than ever with this Woodstock revival wedding inspiration. Using a colour palette of browns, yellows and oranges, this shoot is all about those retro vibes with a focus on sustainability and was put together by Recommended Supplier, Lou Lou Event Design. Using pre-loved wedding decor and furniture, and choosing to host this in at the eco-friendly Recommended Venue, The Oak Barn, Frame Farm. Capturing this day, was the incredible Recommended Supplier, Nseko Creates!

I studied a lot of the original Woodstock photos for inspiration and decided on three key scenes. We put each scene together with sustainability and authenticity in mind.

Sustainable Woodstock Wedding

For the ultimate retro and sustainable vibes pre-loved props, furniture and tableware straight out of the 60s and 70s were used. Recommended Supplier, Disco Dining, did all the stunning tableware. They even brought in a VW camper from Recommended Supplier, The White Van Wedding Co, to complete the vibes! Choosing a classic 'flower power' colour palette with oranges, pinks, yellows and browns, this shoot is the epitome of vintage styling. Signage and banners by Recommended Supplier, Art by Rowley, tell the Woodstock story with art inspired by the original Woodstock posters that feature the model couple and musicians.

Vintage 60s Inspired Outfits & Decor

The lace wedding dress and suit were chosen to reflect the era with sustainability in mind. Mia wore an intricate crochet bridal gown by Recommended Supplier, Poppy Perspective, and George wore a brown linen suit. Mia’s suede jacket was found on eBay, which matched the Woodstock wedding theme perfectly. George had a felt Fedora to carry on this texture. Mia & George, the model couple, had recently gotten married so they could showcase Mia's wedding henna too. The supporting band had an incredible '60s style and we love their Daisy Jones & The Six vibes! The shoot took place at The Oak Barn Frame Farm, an eco-wedding venue, so everything was put together with sustainability in mind.

Sustainable wedding choices begin with small steps like going for pre-love decor or an eco-friendly venue

I also wanted the styling to have a contemporary edge with modern florals, stationery and draping to mix old with new.
