Inspiration

Isn't Emily and Oli's wedding at Ardington House the stuff of dreams? The fact that guests travelled over from the US to celebrate with them, and they made it completely personal to them with a ceremony officiated by Emily's brother only adds it its charm. We have to say we're rather smitten with the white floral arrangements by Recommended Florist Foxgloves And Roses  and pink bridesmaid dresses too. Two subtle hints added to the wedding to compliment the already beautiful setting of this country house wedding venue. Emily and Oli also booked Recommended Caterers Fingers And Forks, who provided the canapés and wedding breakfast.

Classic Ardington House wedding with first look and pink satin bridesmaid dresses

Being a British-American couple, we incorporated some of the American traditions that we really like - first look photos, father/daughter and mother/son dances, maid of honor speech to name a few. While the differences aren’t overly significant, it was fun to see our family and friends experience the blended traditions.

Emily & Oli

Ardington House

Emily & Oil described their vibe as classic and elegant, yet simple. Given that they were planning the wedding oversees, they knew they didn’t want their styling to be overly complicated. They loved that their venue, Ardington House was already so beautiful, it didn’t require a lot of decor to create a really special setting. Guests travelled from the US and loved the quintessential English countryside feel Ardington House provided.

Wedding Ceremony

Emily & Oli legally got married in the US one year to the day before their wedding celebration in Oxford. This allowed them to make their ceremony personal and special to them, with Emily's brother officiating the blessing in the gardens of Ardington House. Audio from the wedding ceremony was then used to overlay the wedding film which must make it so special to watch. One of the many reasons why we say videographers are a must at your wedding.

Choose a wedding venue so beautiful it doesn't need any decorations

We took recommendations from everywhere (Rock My Wedding, our venue, friends/family, following supplier tags on social media posts of other weddings) and started narrowing the list down by the suppliers that fit our aesthetic and who we got along with best! We found that looking at recent work/weddings on a supplier’s Instagram helped give the best understanding of what their work would be like.

Has Emily and Oli's outdoor wedding ceremony at Ardington House got you dreaming of your own nuptials outside? Are you unsure where to start?
