What's better than having one special day? Enjoying a weekend-long celebration of course! Which is exactly what this couple decided to do. Bringing together all their nearest and dearest, Sam and Paul chose to set up their own glamping village, filling the weekend with fun activities and delicious food for their guests to enjoy. The main event was stunning with gorgeous flower installations and colourful pampas grass littering the venue. But the real showstopper was definitely the bride who wowed in a Halfpenny London dress, complete with ruffle sleeve detail - now that is one stylish gown, although we expect nothing less from our Recommended supplier!

After a year of lockdowns, our main focus was to bring everyone together for a big celebration. We set up a glamping village so that guests could stay for the weekend. We had something fun planned for every stage. From a relaxed first night with street food followed by a festival-style food van for breakfast and clay pigeon shooting in the morning. The evening was filled with spectacular food and a secret margarita bar with music running late into the night. It was the first big event in over a year for most people and everyone made up for lost time!

We went for a relaxed vibe whilst giving everyone the chance to dress up. The black-tie dress code was mixed in with Ibiza-chilled decor and my Halfpenny London dress fitted the vibes perfectly. We got married legally the week before at Marylebone Town Hall. This meant a lot of the nerves were behind us so we could just focus on celebrating with friends and family. We had a short informal ceremony followed by a lot of music, dancing, food and drinks!

Should you have a wedding planner?

We would recommend using a wedding planner after our experience with Gemma Bond, especially if you're getting married on your own site. Having a planner removed a lot of the stresses of planning a wedding and really allowed us to just focus on the fun bits - like picking my Halfpenny London gown. As for the day itself, just do your best to take in as much of it as possible. Find a few quiet moments together because it really does fly by!
