Inspiration

Imagine walking down the magical outdoor aisle at Notley Abbey in sparkling Jimmy Choo wedding shoes. Now imagine you're in a showstopping Pronovias dress. Picture your bridesmaids looking a vision in green bridesmaid dresses, and your groom in a grey three piece suit that is best described as suave. Now imagine you don't have to imagine, because Recommended photographer Poppy Carter Portraits caught it all on camera and it's an absolute joy! (Granted, you're not Luisa & Stuart, but we can dream...). However, you don't have to dream about Recommended venue Notley Abbey being a stunning place to get married, or Recommended supplier Cherry Tree Cakerie whipping up the most incredible three tier cake, because it's all here for you to see. And if seeing is believing, then you best believe this wedding is all the inspo you need...

Notley Abbey wedding with Jimmy Choo wedding shoes and Pronovias wedding dress.

It was a chic countryside wedding, very romantic and European. We had lots of white flowers, lights, candles and details in gold. We wanted it to have some different touches, so we made sure to add lots of greenery and a beautiful stationery.

PRONOVIAS DRESS & JIMMY CHOO WEDDING SHOES

Well if we're talking about style, we better start with Luisa's Pronovias dress. Not only did it look incredible walking down the aisle, but made a real stir on the dance floor too! After months of practicing their first dance, Luisa's gown had other ideas as it was too big for the slow number they had originally planned. However, this meant all the guests got to dance to Mr Brightside and kill it on the floor, and the dress got its moment. A win-win? The twirls also gave Luisa a chance to show off her Jimmy Choo wedding shoes. Dancing the night away under the disco ball and high ceilings of Notley Abbey? Sign us up.

VIBE OF THE DAY

From the Jimmy Choo wedding shoes to the blooming white and green florals, this was a day of elegance. Luisa and Stuart wanted the day to mix her Brazilian culture with the British, combining a traditional vibe with a real Brazilian party feel. The Bijou DJ team at Notley Abbey mixed Brazilian and English songs to the guests, and if the pictures are anything to go by, it went down a treat... Speaking of treats, we just want to mention the Cake from Cherry Tree Cakerie. We've heard the phrase it looks 'too good to eat', but this cake takes it to another level. If we could frame it we would. But then again, we wouldn't be against a slice?

WEDDING OUTFITS

We couldn't not talk about the rest of the wedding party when it came to style. Firstly, the assorted green bridesmaid dresses were a lovely mix of satin, sleeves and tulle that gave the girls their moment. The boys weren't to be overlooked in their grey morning suits either! Our favourite moment had the be Stuart's take on a bouquet toss as he threw a whisky box to his friends, with the lucky winner getting a bottle. We don't think we've seen so much enthusiasm in one photo? Like, ever? Maybe time to take some notes boys.

Why not turn tradition on its head with a groom whisky toss. We don't think your guests will be complaining...

Work together as a team and don't let unexpected events put you down, your day will be perfect no matter what. Choose suppliers you trust, they make a massive difference in the day. It's the day of the couple, so choose exactly what makes sense for you, no one else. The biggest advice: enjoy the day, it goes by very quickly!
