After being re-arranged three times, Syd and Jordan decided to get married at Oxford Registry Office and hold their reception at the stunning Freud. Complete with special DIY projects, yummy grazing tables, doughnut favours and an open-top car ride. Captured by Recommended photographer, Darina Stoda, the day looks so good! Story of My Dress bridal gown, embroidered veil and pretty Loeffler Randall wedding shoes
Through the Rock My Wedding Instagram and blog, we found our wonderful photographer, Darina Stoda. Once we had her booked, we naturally found our suppliers either through looking at real weddings or Instagram searches. Due to Covid, we had a lot of time to plan our day, so over time, we found our suppliers quite organically.
Best Bits & DIY Fun
Syd bought her own flowers from the market a few days before the wedding with help from mum, uncle, and close friend, Liv. They also created the signage on Canva and printed it at home. Her father-in-law made the children's table fitted with a roll of colouring paper, which they adored! The couple chose a simple font throughout their stationery with a bold header, which kept everything consistent and clean with the main colour palette of cream, peach and green. Their ceremony involved close friends and family, while the rest waited in a pub across the road for the confetti moment. Syd & Jordan had a super chilled reception, followed by a big party with CO2 cannons and lasers. The DJ played background music throughout the day, and come night it was a full-on rave. He was an absolute highlight of the whole day, and the couple would recommend him 100 times over!

Syd wore a signature personalised church-length veil from Story of My Dress. It was embroidered with their initials, their daughter’s name, their wedding date and lyrics from a song that Jordan wrote for her when they first got together. She wore a matching Story of My Dress wedding dress too. Syd completed the look with gorgeous Loeffler Randall white wedding shoes that we're obsessed with! It’s not just the bride that looked stunning. The couple had their reception at Freud, which is such a gorgeous venue with so much history and features on display, it does all the talking for itself. The food also sounds delicious! There was a wonderful two-tiered vegan vanilla and salted caramel cake, 100 doughnut wedding favours, and 3 huge tables of grazing boards, with a huge section of just vegan boards.
Old Wives' Tale Advice
After postponing our original June 2020 date to May 2021, and then finally a Sunday in September, you can imagine how gutted we were when the MET office released an amber weather warning for the day of our wedding. Luckily, I had seen an old wives tale that if you bury a sausage in your garden the night before the wedding, it will ward off the rain. Happy to report that our wedding day was filled with sunshine and not a storm in sight. The plant we buried it under hasn't come back this summer though, the greatest sacrifice. Due to the good weather, we got to enjoy an open-top car ride to the reception. We felt like Lady Di, doing the royal wave at all of our guests walking to Freud.
Grazing boards are a great way of making sure you cater to everyone’s tastes
A supplier that stole the show was our photographer, Darina Stoda. When I tell you this girl will make you want to be besties with her after, I'm not exaggerating. She made us feel so at ease and captured everyone's love, happiness and laughter so effortlessly. Darina was everywhere and nowhere all at once, capturing every moment but never in the way. She was truly as excited for our day as we were and her work shows that. Every guest loved not only the pictures but Darina herself. Thank you forever, you're amazing! Renewal in 10 years, okay?
