Inspiration

It's a glorious day for a glorious cape, and an absolutely show-stopping wedding at Loft Studios London. If Superman was into couture, this cape would surely be his accessory of choice... but it was Sri-Lankan bride Rebecca who has saved us all from ever having to wonder what the perfect bridal outfit was. We salute you. The cape in question is a breathtaking tasselled number from Recommended supplier Halfpenny London, who also designed the fitted satin wedding gown underneath. All of the magic was captured by Recommended photographer Epic Love Story, and oh boy was this day bursting full of it! So, without further ado, we present the epic wedding inspiration you've been searching for...

Summer wedding at Loft Studios London with Halfpenny London wedding dress and bridal cape.

Rock My Wedding was an incredible resource for planning - whenever we needed inspiration we'd turn to the website. Instagram was also a haven - we sourced most of our suppliers by sourcing photographer's pages. We also booked a videographer last minute so we could share the day with our international family and friends who weren't able to make it and it was such a good decision.

Rebecca & James

So, we mentioned earlier something about a cape... okay. We're obsessed and we're not ashamed of it! Rebecca even undertook weight training to make sure she could be strong enough to rock this bedazzled cape all day at Loft Studios London. On a side note, we think she has actually tapped into a new motivational tactic for getting us to the gym... But we would also like to drop a special mention to James' fresh gold Nikes that *almost* drew our attention away from the bridal accessory of the year. His double breasted suit was summery, suave and a breathe of fresh air for the groom suit game. Couple style goals? Completed it.

LOFT STUDIOS LONDON

Rebecca and James chose Loft Studios London because it was a dry hire venue and they could really make the space their own. So they filled the space with incredible florals, pops of colour and festoon lighting to bring the venue to life. They also had beautiful stationery from Recommended Supplier the Noteur to bring a fun modern twist to the table settings. The outdoor space and staircase wrapped in colourful florals worked a treat for all the speeches, including an emotional bride speech from Rebecca. Recommended supplier The Wedding Shop was their gift list of choice which made for a stress free day for couple and guests!

I found the bedazzled cape from Halfpenny and knew instantly that I had to wear it. The dress, shoes and make-up worked around the cape. I had to do weight training to make my shoulders strong enough to wear the cape for eight hours, but it was so, SO worth it.

Finding a killer accessory can make your bridal outfit! And if you're Rebecca, can really get your shoulders into shape...

Make a list of things you want to spend money on and stick to it. Figuring out our priorities helped us to stick to a budget. Finding a make-up artist who had brides of different ethnicities on their Instagram page was frustratingly difficult - but Portraits Bridal had a diverse clientele so I knew they'd get my shade right!

This wedding at Loft Studios London was colourful, glittering and full of love and laughter. In short, an absolute joy! If you're looking for some amazing accessories for your own big day, we've got a whole list of Recommended suppliers who specialise in just that. If colour is your thing then pop your shades on and have a browse through these weddings bursting with colour, inspiration and joy!
