What Made Our Day Unique

I think mainly the fact that is wasn’t your 'typical' wedding. We didn't have a sit-down meal, we didn't cut the cake and we didn't have the first dance. We were very definite about what we did and didn't want, and we didn't want it to feel like work or every other wedding. We just wanted an intimate casual party. We had stormtroopers in the confetti line. Rob is a huge Starwars fan, so I thought this would be the perfect surprise for him and something he would never ever expect. We joined our guests on the bus to travel to the venue singing along with our guitarist, we had space to roam at Somerset House which is unique in itself as there's usually events on! But mainly we could spend all night mingling with our guests and offer a free bar, rather than being behind a table.

Favourite Moment

All of it! I could honestly pick moments from every part of the day. Hugging my Mum in the morning, the girls seeing me in my dress. My Dad walking me down the aisle, seeing Rob for the first time, the stormtrooper surprise, singing on the bus with everyone, walking amounst the fountains of Somerset…

But the main aspect of the day that really stands out for both of us is the speeches. Especially as we discussed not having any at all! But I am so glad we did. They enriched the whole day and emphasised the real reason as to why we were all there and how much love was in the room. They were emotional, funny and filled with love. Our guests still talk about our speeches to this day.
