Minimalist Wedding

Minimalist Wedding in London Styled by Hilde.Stories with Lillies and Sarah Seven Wedding Dress

Photography by Will Patrick Weddings
It doesn't take much to make good styling sing, and this gorgeous minimalist wedding is proof that less can most certainly be more. The monochrome colour palette, with grey and amber accents, is modern and timeless in equal measure, and allows the amazing space at Sunbeam Studios to shine whilst also creating an intimate atmosphere. The guests - who flew in from all over the world to celebrate with our Hong Kong-based couple - must have greatly enjoyed the elegance of the occasion, whilst also letting their hair down to music by GoldBeat (booked via handpicked RMW supplier Alive Network). Oh, and plus points for the piñata, which was clearly a hit with the kids (and, ahem, big kids for that matter).

How We Chose Our Suppliers

It was not easy to source London-based suppliers from outside the UK, but I looked at a lot of real weddings on RMW and made note of the suppliers who caught my eye. That's how I found our videographer, Dan from Shoot Me Now Films. I was in tears watching a strangers' wedding while sitting in our flat in Hong Kong and knew he was the one. I also found the perfect camera master, Will Patrick, via RMW’s handpicked supplier directory. Coincidentally, his last wedding had been at our chosen venue, Sunbeam Studios – which I found on Instagram – so knowing how well he could work with the light was another huge tick in the box.

Minimalist Wedding

Sometimes, the most stunning styling is the simplest, and this certainly rings true with Rebecca & Hon's minimalist wedding day, which is utterly breathtaking for the very fact that it is stripped back. The grey stationery is soft but striking, and I really love the font, whilst the monochrome table décor is mesmerising; just look at how those amber-hued tea light holders pop. As a break from black, Hon wears a traditional tuxedo but in dark blue, which is further reflected by the navy bridesmaid dresses. With the bride's mum also wearing a blue qipao - a traditional Chinese dress - Rebecca jokes that she had so much 'something blue'!

Inspiration Behind The Styling

We had just under 100 guests, and wanted the space to feel simple and intimate. The venue is a well-established fashion studio, with lots of natural light, a white background and marble pillars and walls. We had an amazing wedding stylist, RMW recommended Anne from Hilde.Stories, who helped us brand and style the venue. We were aligned on a minimalist theme from day one, and chose grey, amber and white hues to reflect this.
