A Cornish coastal wedding transformed by a dramatic downpour, cosy candlelight with pink and green florals. Discover relaxed late-summer beach vibes, heartfelt speeches and photography magic from Katie Goff.
Walking down the aisle and meeting Danny’s eyes as he waited under the flower arch will stay with me forever. I’d imagined that moment for so long, all I could do was smile, while Danny did the crying (sorry, babe!). Another favourite was an impromptu father-daughter dance to Van Morrison’s 'Wild Night’. As soon as the music started, my bridesmaids ran to find my Dad, only to realise he was already heading for the dancefloor. Surrounded by friends, we sang and danced like we always have since I was little — until my rain-soaked dress truly sent me flying. Hilariously, Dad kept dancing, and it was our Best Man who heroically came to the rescue.
A few hard truths I wish I’d known: early conversations about guest lists and budgets aren’t always fun, suppliers need booking far in advance, the process can be admin-heavy, and there may be last-minute dropouts before the day. But know this — it’s your day, and your priorities matter most. You’re allowed to be selfish. Lean on loved ones and delegate where you can, from addressing envelopes to last-minute errands. Embrace the beautiful chaos — even a biblical downpour can create the most unexpectedly special memories.
