We wanted the whole day to feel laidback, relaxed and personal rather than traditional or formal. We skipped quite a few of the traditional elements of a wedding day as they didn't feel like 'us'. We wanted to keep in speeches though; the two best men, Chris, Sarah's dad (Steve) bridesmaid (Vicky) all made speeches which had us both crying with laughter at points.

When you enlist a celebrant like Caz, who feels more like a best mate than a supplier, you know your ceremony is in good hands. Sarah & Chris had complete creative control over their “I do” moment, from the readings to the music and even the vows. The only hiccup was when their son, Teddy, who had one job (ring bearer), decided that five minutes before go-time was the perfect moment for a power nap. Pro tip from the newlyweds: If you’re involving kids in your wedding, embrace the unpredictability and always have a backup plan!
The couple’s aim for the day was to create something that felt personal and laid back. Out went the traditions, and in came a relaxed, heartfelt celebration that had them crying with laughter. The speech segment was less about formalities and more about hilarious (and slightly embarrassing) tales of the couple’s adventures.
Sarah & Chris took inspiration from their favourite getaways they’ve been on. Think Bali, Ibiza, and Morocco. Without going full tropical resort, the couple balanced oversized dried palms and grasses with crisp white proteas for a chic, understated boho aesthetic that screamed “effortlessly cool.”
And speaking of cool, let’s talk about ‘The Dress’. You’d think that, given Sarah’s fashion industry background, the search for the one would be a meticulous, months-long endeavour. Nope. One vintage-inspired Ghost dress later, with floaty sleeves and a price tag under £400, and she was set. Proof that when you know, you know.
Chris, of course, was equally dapper, but let’s be honest, the real fashion icon of the night was Teddy, who, once awake, hit the dance floor in toddler-chic attire.
We wanted the day to just feel like a great party or 'holiday' for ourselves and our guests. Drinking margaritas on the terrace in the sunshine after dinner felt like a little slice of holiday although we were only 10 mins up the road from where we live in East London!
