Walking down the aisle was my favourite part. I knew I’d find it difficult as I had lost my dad 5 years earlier and always looked forward to having him walk me down the aisle. But seeing Michael’s face when I started walking down absolutely made it for me. And being able to get married outside with the string trio playing Kissing You by Des'ree in the background along with the birds tweeting. It couldn’t have been more perfect!

Don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t let it consume you too much. Just go with it and enjoy it. We couldn’t have been more laid back. It was up to us how much we enjoyed the process and it wasn’t on anyone else. We had a 2.5-year engagement and it was perfect. We booked our suppliers in good time and got everyone we wanted and it gave us more time to pay for it. If possible, do a small gathering the night before and stay an extra night after your wedding. Opening cards in bed together the next day was one of our favourite moments.
