What Made Our Day Unique
I feel like we managed to have all the elements of a traditional wedding but with a relaxed and nonformal feel to them. We had our ceremony outside by the river under a big wooden arch. The celebrant told the story of how we met and our lives together and one of our friends did a short but sweet reading. All the food on the day was sharing style and we had a big tin bath with all the drinks in! We had giant Jenga and a coconut shy to keep the guests entertained throughout the day and a soul band in the evening. We wanted the day to feel like one big fun party, which I think we managed to achieve!
Inspiration & Styling
I would say the general vibe for the day was a relaxed and fun day. We wanted to have all our friends and family together eating and drinking great food and drinks and hopefully having a lovely time! The inspiration for the styling was the English countryside, mixed with a bit of boho. The flowers were seasonal British flowers grown in our florist’s cutting garden and the venue was a field by the River Trent, so we wanted the styling to be wild and natural so that it was keeping with our surroundings.
