What Made Our Day Unique

Up in the North-East of Scotland we have a dialect called 'The Doric'. We're both very proud of our Aberdeenshire roots and speak it all the time and we wanted our day to be filled with wee nodes to the dialect. Everything from our invitations to our menus, from our ceremony to our vows, they were all either written or spoken in the Doric. We had so many comments on how personal this made our wedding and that was the exact feeling we wanted.

Inspiration & Style

We always said we wanted our day to be fun and relaxed with a nod to our Scottish roots. And of course, being Scottish also means we love a party! We kept the styling simple and focused on things which meant something to us. Michael is a cattle hoof trimmer so our table names were cattle breeds, we had cattle ear tags as place settings and we even had highland cow horns on the top table! We also had nods to my business as I sell Doric cards and gifts so all of the décor was written in Doric and drawn/made by me.
