Winter Brings Spring

Does anyone else feel like Spring has been a long time coming this year? I’m still wearing Winter boots and chunky cardigans, but this shoot has given me some hope, that actually, Spring is just around the corner, because Winter ALWAYS brings Spring. The decor and styling by Rebecca Avery Flowers & Kathryn Hopkins Photography is just perfect – I love their interpretation of Spring – no blossom and pastels – just foliage beginning to turn green, delicate eggs and subtle Apricot tones.

Super talented Kathryn not only shot the whole thing on film, but also made the dress worn by the model! I know, it’s lace overlay and blush toned skirt could easily been mistaken for a Claire Pettibone design…

And that cake created by The Love Lust List member French Made, looks like it should be served at some kind of woodland party for fairies – it’s just so delicate and pretty.

Natural Romanticism

We’re loving the use of foliage of late – it creates such a fresh and vibrant look to wedding flowers and definitely deserves to be the centre of arrangements, rather than just a filler. I mean look at the gorgeous leaves, ferns and eucalyptus used here…absolutely beautiful.

And the greenery looks stunning against model Chloe’s hair – that delicate hair piece is a great alternative to a full on flower crown – which of course we LOVE, but they aren’t for everyone and those little waxflowers are just so sweet!!

We’ve also got some delicious looking feast-for-the-eyes cakes, which add a pretty pop of pastel to the shoot. The geometric shaped wall hanging behind them is fun too – and something which could easily be recreated for your big day too.
