Inspiration

What's black, white and red all over? Trick question - because it isn't in fact a newspaper. It's this sensational, Cruella De Vil-inspired editorial shoot with black red and white wedding decor, a Dalmatian and some breathtaking bridal looks. This is one of the coolest and most innovative shoots we've seen. Every aspect of this shoot has been thought out. Including the black-and-white Dalmatian tapered candles and those stunning red rose centrepieces along with the other floral arrangements from Recommended supplier Femme Petale. The feminist, edgy energy seeps through every photo superbly, and that's all thanks to Recommended supplier Fleming Photo.

Black red and white wedding decor at Cruella De Vil-inspired editorial shoot - Dalmatian included!

Our vision was simple.

What would Cruella do?

Feminist, edgy fashion meets modern practicality, bucking the trends. Or rather, making new ones.

Black red and white wedding decor

We knew we wanted something industrial for Cruella's venue - something with purpose but with a modern twist befitting her character. Woolwich Works came on our radar as "London's new spot for culture", so we knew this could be a great backdrop. This venue is a multidisciplinary space for the arts. It's been carefully restored and modernised from its origins as a fireworks factory in Woolwich's Royal Arsenal area. The exposed brick was amazing for us to contrast our modern table design against the historical, industrial background.

For Cruella, it had to be black, white and red. Holly had a vision of a duo-tone long table which offset the black and white against each other. This, with a ribbon of red and pink flowers, brought it all together. The speckled detailing was our nod to the iconic Dalmatian print. We collected a random assortment of 'found' items. We imagined Cruella would too, and gave them an upgrade in keeping with the theme. Cruella would fill her wedding tables with an array of things she found inspiring or useful too, with her own little twist.

That dramatic ball gown... And the alternative groom style!

Oh. My. Cruella. What a shoot! Nothing was left unthought of, and we're here for it. The Dalmatian really tied the whole theme together perfectly. And who doesn't love a dog at a wedding? Not many people, that's for sure - as made evident by our pets at weddings article. We also adored the groom's look - edgy, contemporary, and all-around fab. If you're in the market for some groom-spiration, then our article on grooms suits and style is the place to be.
