Inspiration

A blue velvet blazer from Reiss for the groom, pink Needle & Thread flower girl dresses, AND a completely bespoke Bowen Dryden wedding dress? This wedding is stylish, emotional and absolutely beautiful. Jen & Matt poured their hearts into personalising every aspect of their wedding day. It showed in all of the exquisite details. They decorated the stunning Recommended Venue, Elmore Court, in pastel hues, twinkling warm candlelight, and love. The incredible Recommended Supplier, Lauren Knuckey Photography, captured all the precious moments from the emotional vows, touching tributes, and heartfelt speeches. The couple also chose Recommended Supplier, Papier, for their wedding stationery. What a day to remember! Let’s get into it!

Gorgeous blue velvet blazer for groom to match the spring meadow wedding theme

Rock My Wedding was the springboard for all our wedding inspiration. I’m lucky that my sister, Amy, works in the industry as a wedding makeup artist, so she gave me top tips and recommendations for her favourite wedding suppliers to choose from. When trying to finalise our wedding venue, I trawled and trawled through the Rock My Wedding website to find the perfect place and we finally found Elmore Court and, of course, our photographer of dreams in the unbelievably talented and just gorgeous human, Lauren Knuckey. Alex at Elmore Court coordinated the wedding immaculately from start to finish. My two sisters were our bridesmaids and I would be lost without them. Anytime I started to overthink any wedding decisions, they were always there to provide clarity and advice. It helps that they have impeccable taste, too.

Jen

Blue Velvet Blazer

Jen wanted Matt to feel amazing on the wedding day as he wears a suit for work. So the couple opted for something a little different with an airforce blue velvet blazer with a navy blue velvet bow tie, both from Reiss (and shiny black patent Kurt Geiger shoes). For the groomsmen, Jen & Matt couldn't find that perfect suit and started building the outfits through buying rather than hiring. David Beckham and Gandy were the style inspiration and with Jen's mantra, WWDD (What Would David Do?), the couple settled on matching champagne velvet blazers for their parents and the rest of the groomsmen wore cream blazers. They looked so smart! The flower girls (Jen & Matt's daughters) were pretty in pink Needle & Thread dresses. The bridesmaids were in one-shoulder powder blue dresses from Self Portrait.

Loving Tributes

Jen & Matt's wedding was a relaxed day all about celebrating love and their family. The couple wanted to find ways in their wedding to remember Jen's wonderful late mother, Wendy - the kindest woman in the world. For Jen, the thought of getting married without her was unbearable at times. So the couple made sure that she would be front and centre, as she deserved. Jen's auntie sent a recording she’d found of Jen's mother singing. The song played and Jen burst into tears from that instant familiarity of her Mum’s beautiful angelic voice. The couple knew this would be the song Jen would walk down the aisle to. The perfect tribute. When Jen walked into that room, holding her Dad’s hand, she heard her Mum's voice and felt instant calm, and in control. She was there. What a gift!

Whether it's a song, a photo, a candle, or a reading, there are lots of beautiful tributes for any lost loved ones

Sharing the day with our three beautiful babies was incredibly special. It may be far from traditional, but having our little gang watching their Mummy and Daddy get married, seeing us so devoted to and in love with them and each other, felt magical. We involved them in every decision including the design of my Bowen Dryden wedding dress which incorporated the colours of our daughters’ dresses in the beadwork. Planning a wedding with three young children was a juggle but we wouldn’t change the order we did things for the world. A memory we will all cherish forever.
