Do you have accommodation?
es, we can sleep up to 39 guests overnight in the house for the night of your wedding. There is also a Coach House for up to 6 of the bridal party to stay onsite the night before, allowing you to wake up and start the preparations for your big day.
What time can the music and bar stay open until?
We allow music and the bar to continue until Midnight in the Gillyflower, and for any guests staying overnight in the house they are invited back to the Drawing Room where a bar will be available into the early hours...allowing an exclusive 'after-party'.
Do you have in-house chefs?
Yes, and they are AMAZING! Super-skilled and flexible they will help to create your menu of dreams. We also try where possible to supply fresh produce in our walled gardens and purchase from local suppliers so you are always guaranteed the freshest and highest quality of food.
Is there a noise limit?
We have a brilliant Funktion-One sound system for you to use in the Gillyflower and as the building is totally sound proof you can turn up those tunes as much as you desire.
Can I bring in my own drinks?
Yes, we you are welcome to pay a service charge to bring in your own drinks during the day and we will sort the staff, ice and glassware so on the day you can relax and enjoy. You are also welcome to choose one of the packages we have put together to save you time.
How are you sustainable?
We have been on a journey to become fully sustainable since we opened in 2013. Here are some of the things we do to look after our environment: Energy: We use 100% renewables and heating provided by estate grown and managed biomass (woodland). Construction: We use local materials with as low impact as possible. Our eco reception venue The Gillyflower is made of Rammed Earth and estate timber. Our new Treehouses (coming 2023) are using materials with low carbon. Food: We are growing more and more of our food in-house in our walled garden and on the estate. We are changing our menus to be seasonal and local. Soon wild meat will be added from our rewilding project on the land. Transport: We are calculating the carbon footprint of all people travelling to and from and offsetting (see below) Nature: We have given 100HA (250 acres) of land back to nature with our Rewilding project. This will hopefully be expanded to another 143 acres in 2025. Offsetting: By using land differently we are measuring carbon sequestration and using that balance to absorb harm (transport, Business activities, waste etc) Inspiration: By creating an environment where it is clear and apparent that things can be done differently and also be fun and delicious we hope that people will be pollinated with inspiration and go away thinking that things can and should be different.
