Inspiration

Kate & James were married in a totally ‘We Did It Our Way’ day. With a grazing table, beautiful velvet wedding dress, and Bradwell Abbey, there are plenty of touches you don’t want to miss. Wanting it to feel like a relaxed party with lots of food, Kate & James shunned traditions. They got ready and arrived together, didn’t have a sit-down dinner, no planned first dance, and there were no speeches! Suppliers were mainly local businesses Kate had been following on social media for a while. Also including Recommended suppliers, Ania Ames Photography, and Esska Shoes! We’re also loving the black bridesmaid's dresses, a bold choice we absolutely adore!

The grazing table was dressed in beautiful fresh eucalyptus - guests took bunches home at the end of the night. We originally booked a fish & chip van from a national company, but they, unfortunately, cancelled 3 days before. Luckily, Bandit Street Food (a local business), were able to save the day!

STYLING AT BRADWELL ABBEY

Kate & James weren't planning to have any styling because they wanted to spend their money where it mattered most to them; food, drink and music! The venue itself also provided a beautiful backdrop. Although, they attended a 'supplier day' at Bradwell Abbey, where a local supplier had set up amber lighting accents, gold candle holders & a large Autumnal tree in the barn. It looked great, so they booked them to recreate the same set-up!

FAVOURITE MOMENT

We’ll leave this one to Kate & James: “the dance floor was packed from start to finish! The atmosphere all day was just so happy! Our guests kept telling us how refreshing it was to have such a relaxed day that felt very 'us'. It was the first event with everyone together post-Covid restrictions. Our guests hugged each other all day. We were just so excited to be together again and have a big party.

Evening pizza van? Always a good idea.

Get ready together! We had our friends and family roaming in and out of a few different hotel rooms - the morning was really fun and chilled. Although there were naturally a few nerves before we walked down the aisle, it took the pressure off a big formal ‘reveal'. It also meant we could give each other a big hug beforehand, which was everything.

Kate & James

Bradwell Abbey is one of those beautiful rustic venues that give us all those Autumnal vibes! We love the fact that James & Kate did it all their way. From the grazing table to Kate’s alternative wedding dress, it’s all about who they are as a couple - and we love it!
