Intimate Chaucer Barn wedding with two brides

We always wanted a small intimate wedding with our nearest and dearest and decided early on in the planning stage what was most important to us. Good food, good music, good wine and for everyone to feel relaxed. We did a lot of DIY with the help of family and friends.

SUPPLIERS

We chose our photographer by looking for someone who featured LGBTQ+ weddings in their portfolio. Jessie instantly made us feel at ease, and we knew we wanted her to capture our day. Our caterer and table hire were known to the venue and we chose them at an open day. Our bouquets were done by Blooming Balloons, who is a family friend. Kristy’s brother organised a DJ for us who happened to be a friend of his!

Chaucer Barn

Our favourite moment was the ceremony at Chaucer Barn. It was perfect and so special to us. We had family do readings and Gabbie’s cousin sang as we walked down the aisle. We enjoyed the little moments; like walking back up to the barn after the ceremony, sitting in deck chairs chatting to friends, and the sunset photo shoot. This gave us time to be wife and wife before the evening started. The food was amazing and the speeches were a favourite too!

Sunflower bouquets are a beautiful summer addition!

The best piece of advice we can give is to agree on what is most important to you as a couple. Focus on that. Keep in contact with your suppliers and venue, and utilise their experience and expertise. Take time to plan readings for the ceremony, this ended up being the most special memory for us.
