Thea & Fiona had a fun and colourful festival-style day! We are so in love with the pairing of the Freda Bennet wedding dress and custom cover-up jacket from Recommended supplier, Niamh Designs! They had all their guests camping in tents after the wedding and PLENTY of fun activities and personal touches you'll have to scroll to read. But just to name a few, there was a Scottish and Irish gin bar, sharing starters, outdoor games, and alpacas! Enough said. Get scrolling.

Make it personal and don't get too bogged down thinking of what others believe your wedding should be. Have fun and be part of the celebration, we didn't go for photos after the ceremony but instead danced with our guests. Planning can be stressful so be kind to each other. Inevitably things pop up that you haven't planned for, so leave a little budget for unforeseen and emergency costs.

Freda Bennet Wedding Dress

Thea wore a gorgeous Freda Bennet wedding dress that the couple stumbled across at Bliss Studios. The couple loved that there were plenty of samples and pre-loved dress options available as well as a buy-back scheme! Thea & Fiona decided on having a mini festival with good food, music, games, drinks, colour and joy! They made it personal and provided a few extra touches like a Tayto sandwich station (an Irish staple), a Scottish and Irish gin bar, a toasting marshmallow spot, and their table names were photos of the couple in locations they've visited. Thea & Fiona had picnic-style tables and a sharing starter to encourage guests to make new friends and get to know each other. They had the guests camp in tents and campervans at the venue the night of the wedding to set the festival vibes!

Camping Festival Wedding

Thea & Fiona made the whole day a celebration of what they love. From the rockabilly band after the ceremony, margaritas with taco starters, a cheese table covered in dinosaurs, personalised camping cups (designed by Thea's niece), outdoor games galore, seating areas by the fire for those that wanted a quiet moment, and, of course, the alpacas! They tried to make it a fun, relaxed celebration. It started with their ceremony being held outside under a tree canopy and delivered by a lovely celebrant who told the story of how they met. It finished with a singsong by the campfire before the guests retreated to their tents for the night. The couple also incorporated colour with their homemade DIY decorations draped inside the tipis. Especially when paired with their colourful seating chart too!

The Suppliers

As music lovers (and due to the Scottish weather) Thea & Fiona decided to get personalised embroidered jackets with a musical theme to go over the Freda Bennet and Justin Alexander wedding dresses. They chose an Irish supplier to make the jackets. We're obsessed! The couple decided to have alpacas as they walked by them every day with their dog, Monroe. Thea & Fiona knew they wanted to have their wedding in a gorgeous location where the sea meets the woods. They were also impressed with their photographer who captured the joyful and relaxed vibe of the day perfectly and got all those genuine moments. Their florist sourced colourful, romantic and fun flowers. Their humanist celebrant for the ceremony made it all relaxed, personal and full of giggles. They also had an eclectic menu with posh fish and chips, and Mexican and Scottish cuisine for the sit-down meal.

Thea - We decided not to have formal speeches, instead, we set up a mic so anyone could say a few words at any time during the meal. Many friends and family shared well wishes, sang songs or told stories that were beautiful and hilarious. My favourite moment was when my niece, Otillie, bravely and lovingly said a few words.

Fiona - There are so many favourite moments! Getting ready at my parent's house while listening to a wedding day playlist my lovely friends made me. Also, the hilarious and heartfelt stories told during dinner, the quiet moments with just us getting photos taken by the beach and clambering into a field, and ALL the dancing, especially to Loch Lomond.
