Karla & Jack’s marquee wedding with a hanging foliage installation is the inspiration you don’t want to miss! Having had three Islamic wedding celebrations in Dubai, they wanted their U.K. wedding to be the total opposite; wanting simplicity and to focus on things that really mattered. As Jack isn’t from the U.K., they felt some traditions just didn’t feel relevant to them and wanted their day to be as relaxed as possible. Recommended Supplier, Jessica Hopwood Photography, was on hand to capture each beautiful moment. Alongside Not Another Stylist, who ensured Karla’s hair was looking on point!

I did a lot of research to try and find local suppliers that we could really build relationships with and trust. As we didn’t have a wedding planner this was very important to us.
HANGING FOLIAGE INSTALLATION
We absolutely love a marquee wedding! It gives you an opportunity to really showcase your style and personality. Incorporating a floral installation into your day may seem daunting, but we promise, it’ll 100% be worth it! Speaking to your florist beforehand and getting an idea of what they can offer is a must if you’re looking to get super creative with your wedding flowers. There are plenty of options available, trust us!
ADVICE
“Enjoy every moment. You will never have everyone you love so much together like that again. Stay calm and take it all in. Find 5 minutes where you can both just sit together and breathe. Also, do whatever you want. If you don’t want loads of photos, don’t! If you want to do a speech (I did a bride's speech) then do it. Do what you want and not what is ‘expected’. Stay true to yourself.” Karla & Jack
SHOES
Karla’s shoes were made by her cousin, Tabitha Ringwood. She sent her various ivory shades and different materials, finally settling on a textured off-white material. She then handmade the shoes in her workshop at home!
We’re loving Karla’s lace removable sleeves!
My friend Georgia wrote her own reading. It was about the trials of dating in 2022 and finding your person, which was really funny. It was lovely to have some humour during an otherwise very emotional ceremony.
