Retro love at Northern Monk Refectory Leeds with streamers, a pink cake and some insanely good golden wedding heels

I wanted to create a colourful 70's vibe wedding in a cool industrial setting. Inspiring couples to be bold, colourful and showcase amazing suppliers. Not to mention - how they can create a theme for your wedding without it being in your face or gimmicky. This shoot shows how you can adapt the colourful 70's vibes in a modern way. The use of gorgeous colourful flowers, A Stevie Nicks floaty dress turning into a 70's lace short party dress, Northern Monk beer, on-trend 70s wave hair and that pop of colour in makeup, cool party vibe streamers and fun styling.

Bold retro stylings at Northern Monk Refectory Leeds

The Northern Monk Refectory in Leeds is a haven for beer enthusiasts and a vibrant venue. Located in the heart of the city, the Refectory offers a truly unique atmosphere. With its industrial-chic decor, and a wide range of meticulously brewed beers, the Refectory is an incredible choice for a shoot. Hats off. Stephanie aimed to create a vibrant 70s-inspired look with a touch of retro charm - and that she did. Whilst encouraging couples to embrace boldness, this shoot exemplifies how you can infuse the vibes of the 70s into a contemporary context. Whether you're a fan of the 70s or not, nobody can deny the legendary status this shoot has no doubt achieved. The bridal looks paired with fantastic platform heels set against the industrial backdrop of the brewery is a sight for sore eyes. This venue provides an unforgettable experience that embodies the spirit of community, craftsmanship, excellent beer, and now - the beauty of the 70s.

From colourful streamers to captivating stationery, this shoot truly has it all...

I wanted to create a modern twist to the '70s. 70s hair and makeup are on trend, but I wanted to spin it with Stevie Nicks vibes. We had a cool, long floaty day dress from Rebel Rock Bridal. Then an awesome 70's lace short dress with those gorgeous sleeves designed and made especially for the shoot by Alyce Jayne Bridal. She also created the 70's inspired cape which brought drama to the party dress.

This entire shoot makes us want to get up and dance. Speaking of dancing... Our article on first dance wedding songs is a great source of inspiration. Tenuous link, maybe, but this shoot has got us feeling a little crazy. In a good way, obviously.
