We'll hand over to Esther to talk more around the creative process for creating stunning wedding flowers. I’m a firm believer that all creatives have a rebellious streak. I like to wear mine proudly, and I urge all my couples to do the same. Since starting my floristry business four years ago, I have learned that the sorts of wedding flowers that spark my creativity and passion are those that you won’t find on Pinterest. I have no interest in doing what’s been done before, and neither should you – you’re not living someone else’s fairy tale, you’re writing your own.
Wedding Flowers
A love of art and design is in my blood – my mum is a painter, and my dad is a landscape architect. Both my parents have instilled the importance of creativity in me, and it’s meant that throughout my life, I have had a rather gleeful disregard for well-trodden paths and best-laid plans. While the colours, textures and scents of working with flowers have always been exciting to me – like painting with a living canvas – I took a rather circuitous route to get where I am today. My path to Rebel and the Rose has seen me designing furniture in the north of England, sailing glittering tropical waters on a fleet of superyachts, and orchestrating show-stopping floral displays for an array of luxury events and parties. The call of the big wide world is still strong, but nowadays I channel it into my work, designing modern, artistic wedding and event flowers for people embarking on their own big adventures. I’m based in the leafy town of Cheltenham, in the Cotswolds. It’s the place I grew up, and I’m lucky to be surrounded by my brilliant family and lots of old friends. When I’m not in the studio dreaming up new floral fantasies, you’ll find me up a ladder decorating my lovely little coach house, going on long, laughter-filled walks with my friends and their dogs, or on the never-ending quest for the perfect Sunday roast.

- I worked all over the world on yachts for 9 years, it was wonderful but I always dreamt of starting my own business and I’m so happy I did!
- I have never had a cup of tea or coffee in my life. I don’t think there are many of us out there.
- I’m in the middle of writing a book which is all about how floristry helps with mindfulness when I’m having “one of those days” I always turn to my creative side and I want to help others with that
- I LOVE to travel and its high up there on my bucket list to flower more beautiful weddings abroad
- I love to pay attention to all the details which is why I started my other company Lovestruck Creative designing LED neon signs to go with my flowers
- I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and I hope that shows in all of my work
