Planning

Making a stately home wedding venue your own sounds like a challenging task, but it doesn’t have to be. Rock My Wedding Recommended suppliers Marble Private, the luxury wedding and party planners, are on hand to demystify the process of planning a stately home wedding - perfect for couples with an autumnal or winter celebration on the horizon. If a stately home wedding venue conjures up images of roaring fires and atmospheric lighting, we can also give you inspiration for simple styling and florals, music curation and entertainment booking, and immersive activities for guests.

STYLING A STATELY HOME WEDDING VENUE

There are, undoubtedly, limitations with styling a home that is not your own. However, the opportunity that a stately home wedding venue gives us is the ability to create textures and layers using the opulent surroundings. For example, a statement fireplace can be exaggerated as a wedding centerpiece using foliage and wood, candles, floral installations, or even mirrors and disco balls - all making use of the beautiful building and creating photo backdrops.

You can make further use of the luxury of stately home wedding venues and listed buildings using warm lighting and rich fabrics to create ‘texture’. We love the ability to reinterpret a space using lights, which add drama to the venue’s original structure. Interactive lighting projections, spotlights and uplighters, and layers of candelabras and candle orbs all create impact within an indoor venue, plus you can extend the light theme by taking guests outside for a firework show! All of these ideas elevate that romantic, wintery mood, and - paired with some cosy furs - there’s nothing more beautiful for a wedding this season.

KEEPING GUESTS ENTERTAINED

Even if you’re the kind of person to associate weddings with boules on the lawn, you can bring your wedding indoors whilst keeping the eclectic, fun feel. Plus, a real bonus of keeping activities inside a stately home wedding venue means they feel more intimate and help guests to really spend time with you. If you were blessed with nice weather, you could even draw guests outside with firework displays; flamethrowers and hot chocolate vans on the lawns - with guests making their own s’mores - will create a great atmosphere and allow guests to enjoy the grandeur of the building inside and out.

If the weather isn’t on your side, however, there’s no reason to panic! We’ve previously set up cinema rooms and theatre spaces within the venue, where children's films would run during the day to keep the little ones entertained, and then comedy acts and bands would perform into the small hours for the grown ups. You could also have cocktail masterclasses, wine and cheese tasting, live jazz music, and even treasure hunts throughout the venue, keeping guests engaged and busy.

Still wanting some activity ideas? What about a perfume making workshop, bouquet and wreath making, yoga classes, axe throwing, or even just throwing a good old fashioned party in the basement - but make sure you pack your dancing shoes!

DESIGNING A SOUND JOURNEY

To us at Marble Private, sound is integral to our events. Our dedicated music and booking team, Marble Music, works with each of our clients to design a sound that is totally unique to them, elevating the wedding and taking it to a whole new level.

Having live bands and performers throughout the day, gradually building the spirits of guests into a crescendo of explosive and exciting performance by the evening is how we love to keep our clients hyped.

We once worked with a groom to surprise his bride with a flash mob at dinner - the waiter, seemingly having dropped a plate, actually picked up a microphone and burst into song, with the support of the other waiting staff!
