Inspiration

If you're looking for colour, good vibes, alpacas, and a fun new trash the dress tradition, Cat & Rhys' Summer wedding at Deer Park in North Devon is for you. Recommended photographer Grace Elizabeth captured all the magical moments, describing the couple as absolute firecrackers, which we wholeheartedly concur with. Make sure you take a moment to appreciate Cat's bridal up do entwined with fresh flowers, you won't regret it.

Summer wedding at Deer's Leap Retreat with Alpaca's and fun trash the dress wedding tradition.

Rhys & I wanted a relaxed day with lots of entertainment but not too much structure so that we could all have fun and enjoy our time together. We ended up with alpacas, trash the dress, lanterns on the lake, a string quartet, a photo booth... the works! We chose our suppliers based on our theme of colour and fun. Both of us found the Rock My Wedding Recommend supplier directory made it much easier for us to find what we were looking for.

Cat & Rhys

Trash The Dress

Cat works in costume design for tv and film, so it’s no surprise that every element of their day was meticulously planned, and yet despite this, their wedding was also so relaxed... Relaxed enough that Cat was quite happy to partake in a fun trash the dress tradition. She asked her wedding party to each throw Holi powder all over it. The results are amazing! We predict lots more brides participating in this fun, new, tradition.

Caribbean Influences

The vibe of Cat & Rhys' Summer wedding was colourful and fun. They took inspiration from many places including Rhys' Caribbean heritage to end up with a bright fiesta of colours. The I do crew each wore a different coloured dress which matched the Holi powder they each threw over Cat's lace dress to trash it, and carried the prettiest bouquets including Dahlias, Roses and Gerberas.

Alpacas

The Alpacas went down an absolute treat with Cat & Rhys' guests. They were allowed to meet them before their wedding day and hand-selected their outfits to match their theme. Don't you just love their pom pom collars? Although it was too hot for guests to meet the Alpacas at lunchtime, the hire company, rearranged to bring them along during the evening when it was cooler.

Who doesn't want to pet cute fluffy friends on their wedding day - we love the Alpacas.

Grace our photographer was incredible. So personal, so professional. She captured our multicultural day beautifully and was just an amazing positive presence too. We couldn't recommend her enough!

Cat & Rhys

Team Rock My Wedding love nothing more than seeing couples be authentically themselves and incorporating new traditions on their wedding day. Cat's Trash the dress tradition was fun, looked fierce and was also a great way to introduce EVEN more colour into their multicultural celebration.
