Inspiration

Nothing screams Friday more than a fun East London elopement complete with a short wedding dress, colourful flowers and a fabric wedding banner. Wedding Planner and Stylist Abstract Events chose Rock My Wedding Recommended suppliers Blaise Flowers and Hair by Duboux amongst other talented suppliers to bring her vision to life, which I'm sure you'll concur is incredible. Not only will you be frantically searching for similar short wedding dresses, but you'll also be perfecting the fierce makeup look. Graffiti backdrops, cocktails and doughnuts add to all the excitement of this inspiration shoot, and we're here for it! Beautifully captured by Recommended supplier Amy Woodham Photography.

Fun East London elopement with fabric wedding banner decor and a short dress

My vision was to focus on a couple doing things their way, being madly IN LOVE and following no traditions. This East London elopement screams fun and freedom and shows a couple breaking the rules and enjoying every second of it. What better place to capture this vibe than the streets of East London! We made full use of the street art and incorporated confetti, doughnuts, cocktails and champagne popping moments to add a little excitement.

Fashion

I wanted the couple's look to be playful with an edge. Sally-Kate created a half up, half down pony with lots of volume, which had a retro feel. Aina made sure the eye make-up was vibrant, incorporating coral. It looked so cool! I love the full-length veil provided by Hannah and how well it complemented the two stunning short wedding dresses. Both dresses were designed by Cheryl from Velvet Johnstone and pops of colour were included in the groom's shirt. We kept the overall look very casual with Converse trainers and a denim bridal coverup.

Wedding Banner

I incorporated a bright and colourful palette which was used across the day in the stationery, outfits, bouquet and the cutest mini wedding banner(s) by Day Dream Creative Studio. I wanted to combine corals, light blues and pinks as these colours are very fresh, scream joy and complimented the time of the year, spring. The bouquet was the bride's "accessory" and was a statement in itself! Blaise created a bright and full bouquet, with light blue delphiniums, coral peonies, the most gorgeous sweet peas and pastel pink anthuriums. What more could you ask for?

Nothing is more important when planning a wedding, whether it's an elopement or a big celebration than the suppliers you choose.

The couple's chemistry made it all come together perfectly. You could definitely feel the LOVE! The aim of the day was to show couples how important it is to let go of expectations and not worry about the pressures of "what a wedding should be like." The suppliers you work with should all bring the same level of excitement and celebrate with you. Amy could not have captured this day any better and all the suppliers smashed it!
