Boho Tenuta Savoca Sicily Wedding

Planning a wedding takes a lot of time, consideration and energy – even more so when planning a destination wedding. Having a planner was the absolute best decision we made. Not only did she help us to find a venue that we hadn’t even shortlisted, but she also found all of the suppliers and translated contracts, leaving us to be able to focus on the detail and design of the day (which we chose to be more involved with).

We were advised that getting legally married in Sicily on the day would be quite complicated and that it was perhaps better to do the legal bit in the UK before heading out. But, we were set on our decision and although we’re happy that we got to legally tie the knot in Sicily, it added a lot of stress, money and complexity – in hindsight, we perhaps should have taken our planner's advice on this one!

You'll see in the wedding video that there was a hilarious moment where the best men found that the rings were missing from the box, and our celebrant, Dario, styled this out so well, with our videographer capturing the moment brilliantly! Something that could have been a disaster turned into a pretty hilariously beautiful moment with our parents all standing to take off their own rings for us to use. Plus, we got to exchange rings twice!
